Dry burning is when you pulse fire to burn gunk off of the coil. Some people dry burn everything, but personally, I only dry burn coils I have built myself. I don't have a lot of confidence in stock coils. In any case, if you are using flammable wicking material (like cotton), you will want to remove the wick prior to burning or it will fry.

I can't tell you which Kanger coils are better, there are too many things on the market right now for me to keep track.

What does dryburning a coil mean, can it be done to kanger coils? Also i noticed that some of my kanger dual coils (enclosed wicks ) have 4 holes and some just have 2, is one better than the other? Are they vertical coils? And what is the best way to prime them.

Dry burning means you fire a coil without a wick in it that should have been thrown in the garbage the day prior. I usually do it once on a non stock coil even though I know it should be in the garbage. It cleans the coil for a new wick even though it really does not.

Personally I do not build coils... Yet. I also vape very hard, about 10 mls. a day, so by the end of the day my coil is nasty. I take it out, drop it in a bowl of water, and dry burn it before using it again. I have several coils that I rotate out like this. The only alternatives are to get a new coil everyday, or take up coil building. Yes, it cleans a stock coil fine.

I thought dry burning was a myth...
Nah, dry land is a myth. HA HA Waterworld.

I like to rewick and bryburn each time i refill my Kanger tanks. Dry burn until the cotton burns, then it is easy to remove the remains without harming the coil. I used to just pull put the wick from one side but it eould be stuck to the coil and could really mess it up requiring a coil rebuild. With the wick incineration technique my coils last way longer. After burning out the wick and removing the large pieces of partially burned cotton, a quick rinse and another dry burn and its ready for a fresh wick. Fast and easy.

I dry burn my coils about every 10 ml of juice with the gunkier ones. Really clean juices can go 30 ml or a bit more. I have not used Kanger products so I'll leave that for people who know them. If the wick is silica you can dry burn at will with the wick in. With clearos, don't overheat the clearo while doing this.

Done right with good heads you'll get back to 99% of original tank performance and you'll be able to do it for weeks or months.

what are you using the coils in?

the Kanger dual coils have the four little holes..the protank ones two

same here, we have a "coil bowl" where after a few tanks or resistance goes up, we take 'em out..and clean them once a week or so..if it gets burnt to crisp ewwww toss the coil...soak in really hot water, then dry burn to "dry" and put back into the rotation.
