I use 50/50 and when it happened last time I took it apart and there was no burn mark on the cotton. But you most likely know more than I do since I've had it about five hours now lol. And I know I have to raise my coil and make it diaganol. After reading the online instructions. My clone didn't have any lol. I guess the instructions was another fifty bux aha

Try a coil around a 5/64 drill bit. I like 9 wraps of 28g. I wick it so the cotton goes through pretty smoothly and if I tried to pull the cotton out with the mod upright and not holding it, it wouldn't pull the mod and make it fall over. After wicking it with the rit density of cotton I put the chimney on and cut the cotton just above the top of the chimney and push it down carefully in place with a small screwdriver.

I used to get dry hits when I did this with a 1/16 coil at around 0.9 ohms no matter how much or little cotton I used. By increasing coil diameter and resistance a smidgen (1.0ohm) I haven't had a dry hit since. Like always your results may be different. Oh I vape mostly 50/50 juice but have the same results on this coil with 80/20 and 20/80.

Try an 8 wrap around the 5/64 with 30g. Mount the coil and get it burning right and let me know it's resistance. Your MVP should be able to read it after you get it squeezed and burning from inside out evenly.

Okie dokes coil is diaganol and on there and raised about a mm or so instead of super low like I had it. Mvp2 is saying it's a 1.9 ohm which is better than the 1.5 I had. So now thread the cotton through so it pulls through easily and put chimney on....cut extra strands to the top of chimney and lightly push them down so they aren't smashed up or against the juice channels. Than fill her up? Correct? I think I had it almost down I just had too low ohm coil and it was positioned way too low I think

Grrrrrrr lol. I did it. It was great. For one or two hits lmao. I did it that way I did the exact as on grimm greens video and still getting the burnt hits. I think I need to boar out my juice channels/air channels a little more. It's a clone and they are small. I say this cuz when I get the air bubbles to rise up they are just itty bitty one or two bubbles. My cotton pulls through with ease and it is no where near the channels. I should have left it alone and never filled it up after the first tank dammit lol. I lost ten mils already. Once cuz I'm a dummy and the second on dry hits lol. Where's my igo

Ok so maybe I fixed it. I had ten hits no dry hits. Don't laugh too hard. So I had two hours of sleep and doing the Easter thing and looked at my kfl as I was gonna retire it for another time and the bottom base was kinda open like a protank mini2 lmao not sealed all the way. I tightened all the way down and the bubbles come up so fast it leaked all out my air hole and air hole screw since I had it wide open lol. So either it flooded enough for me to get ten hits and is a fluke or I fixed it. Someone smack me now. Oh and took off the stock tip and put a mini pt2 on which brought me flavor. Man I'm going to bed and leaving you guys alone. You all probably hate me by now lmfao. I'm sure in a hot or two I'll be to sqaure one an in sure I'll let you know lol. Good night my fellow vapors

I'll be around tomorrow to help. I have used both straight and diagonal coils. With 30g and lower I haven't had problems with hot legs straight so I Don't think it matters all that much.

Of course if you aren't getting an air tight seal you won't maintain a vacuum and dry hits and flooding as you learned is the result. Tomorrow post about your results. Good luck and Happy Easter!

Drilling/widening channels in the kayfun is typically more harmful to your vape than in any way beneficial. If any modifying is going to be done it would be to increase airflow by drilling the airholes.

However, you don't have to do this to get a great vape out of a KFL. My guess is you are experiencing wicking problems/improper wicking placement. This is very important on kayfuns. Use a decent size diameter for your coil, and run the coil diagonal, in my opinion. You do not want the cotton wicking sliding 'loosely' between the coil. You want it to be a firm pull, but not too excessive. I wil typically trim the width of my cotton wick so the ends are not as thick (they will be less likely to block the channels). Then I wet each end of the wick slightly with juice and point them upwards, screw down the chimney base cap (make sure not to get any wicking stuck in the threading while you do this), and you should have two cotton wicking ends sticking up. Cut them off right at the top. Wet the coils a little to eliminate fray and allow for more control. Take a small screwdriver and position the wick on each side so that it is pressed down against the long base of the positive post. Take the mini screwdriver and firmly press the cotton against the posts and AWAY from the channels. Keep an end of the wick close to the channels, but not touching or covering it.

I remove my airflow control screw completely. I never get flooding or leaking. The increased airflow is beneficial.

Make sure when you are adding juice (I top fill), and put things back together, that your chimney is properly secured. I have noticed with kayfuns it fairly easily backs off of the threading.

Take bce22s advice and widen the diameter of your coil quite a bit, I have found this also to be more effective on kayfun style devices. But I'll say again don't toss the device just yet, your problem I am 99% sure is wicking. Pics of your builds will be helpful.

If you're using a regulate device shoot for 1.5-1.9 ohms. Ensure the cotton is not being choked inside the coil. Wet everything before putting everything back together.

As for the distance of the coil above the airhole, looking down other avenues like this, I recommend against it. With kayfuns I have found they are very finnicky and if you are having problems like yours, it is almost always a wicking issue. Sorry for the rant.

Millions of people have that same exact atty and love it, it's probably a wicking problem. Above post says cut tails of wick to be thinner than at the coil, that is good advice, I do that always. Your prolly still using to much cotton.

Don't trip you'll get it and when you do it will be rewarding.
