Maybe I'm hitting it too much lol. I have 1 reo that for some reason the rm2 always gives me trouble. I can't do 1 full vape without it drying out. You'd think I got this yesterday. I've rewicked it like 4 times now and each time trying less KGD cotton or more. Same ending. This time I lowered my coil and not so much the same problem. I'll keep tinkering with it. It could be lowering the coil solved my problem. Thanks ya'll!

I would say both potentially. If you use too much, you can choke it and block your juice from fully soaking into it inside the coil (or really slow it down) and get dry hits. On the other hand, if you use too little, you may not get good contact with the full coil surface and get some dry/burnt tasting hits. Gotta find that happy medium - just enough too fill the coil. You want to be able to move the wick back and forth inside the coil making sure you have full coil contact. Hope this helps.

You must be used to an atty with better juice flow.....

Also could be a smaller inside diameter coil. I was trying out different coil setups and realized that too small of a micro coil at too low of a resistance can cause dry hits due to the fact that a small coil equals a small amount of wick and the lower resistance made the coil hotter than usual so that combination meant that even with a fully saturated wick I couldn't even get a full 3 second drag off of it without a burning/dry hit.

It's more likely one of the other issues above, but I thought I'd mention it.

I had this same issue for awhile, I would take 1 drag and its good, 2 and its dry.

At the time, I was using 24G 10 wraps around 1/16 at 0.5 ohms and after every drag, it would sizzle for a bit. The coil was too hot for it's own internal diamter.

Since I switched to 6 wraps of 24G around a 3/32 bit (same size as my airhole), this problem has gone away and I stayed at 0.5 ohms.

Your wick is either too tight, too lose or not dense enough and or you need to use a larger diameter coil.

I found a wire coat hanger is the perfect diameter for coils. sorry i dont know the actual diameter spec.
I am using an rm2 and found that slight gaps between the coils make more vapor.
my coil of choice is 3 wraps of mundy's magic wire at .6 ohm.

now to the wick,
take a piece of cotton and gently pull it apart you will feel the strands of cotton get tangled together into small knots.Continue to pull apart till you can almost see through the cotton. Then begin to roll it into a wick but dont squeeze it into a tight roll that defeats the purpose! then insert into coil as always.

I diy my liquid Omg nic, flavor and 100% vg and this method of wicking is amazing. I dont dilute the vg at all, and have no problems squonking or wicking the thick liquid.
I have read of problems with 100% vg liquid wicking in cotton, but I have no problems.

In the rm2 I trim the wick even with the side of the deck then tuck the ends down to just touch the ceramic base.

I hope this helps make your REOS perform as good as mine does, the only better vaping device is a STABILIZED woodvil that should be available around christmas............................right Rob!!!!!!!!

I'd also say pull the cap and make sure that it's feeding juice ok, you might have a partial blockage and not be getting the squonk you think you are.

I had problems getting dry hits last night with mine.Never had this happen before so I checked under the hood and for some reason juice wasn't getting to the top. I took it all apart the night before to clean everything so I thought I messed in up. I ripped out the cotton, dry burn, and sorta positioned the tube and bottle. The problem went away, but I think that maybe the cotton tail blocking the juice hole.

Check everything again as it's nearly impossible to get dry hits from the reos.

I have the V cut in my tube and it is flowing great so that wouldn't be my guess. For my coil, I've been using the 2nd smallest mandrel that comes with the artistic coil gizmo. I think I read some people switched to the one up from that. Any thoughts on this? I normally use 28g and a perfect 1ohm coil.

I put a new coil/wick in a new REO last night and had a terrible time for about 3ml of juice. I was squonking after each hit. It seems to have broken in now and working great. How long have you been using the coil/wick you have now. Is it sitting low on the deck?

The coil is relatively new. It's lower on the deck now and perfect position towards the other edge. I think honestly it was too high - it's not giving me as much trouble now that I pushed it down a mm or two.

Sometimes the after length of your wire becomes a hot spot and it feels like a nasty dry hit.

Squonk as normal, take the top cap off and fire it to watch the vapour. If you see your wires after length glow orange after a second or two, that's what the problem is.

When I get a run of crazy dry hits that I can't explain or solve be re-wicking, this is what's going on for me.
