I'm using an aspire bdc ce5-s on a vision spinner 2, and I keep getting these random, unpredictable dry hits that make me wanna puke. Any tips on how to avoid this, or why this is happening?

if your wick is not saturated you will get dry hits. Try doing a couple of non-powered puffs. This should bring in juice to the wick and eliminate the dry hit situation. Chain vaping, poor air flow and excessive voltage/wattage will also cause dry hits.
I bought the spinner 2 for more power and vapor. Is it possible that I should get higher resistance coils?
try a 50/50 juice on the aspire heads , thicker juices dont wick too well. higher res coils will just lower the power output, that might stop the dry hits but wont solve the wicking problem altogether if the juice is thick.
My juice is pretty thin. I'm not sure of the pg/vg ratio. Strange thing is, I loved this tank when I first got it. I changed the coil when the first one started tasting bad, now it seems like the bad hits are more frequent. Maybe I got a bad coil? I dunno
try turning the voltage down until the dry hits get better or go away. If your after more vapor then just crack your lips on the inhale.
I agree with turning down the voltage. That causes the same reduction in power (watts) as using a higher resistance head at the same volts.

BDC coils are built like cartomizers--the coil is wrapped in a layer of polyfill. If this polyfill is not properly saturated at all times, just like in a cartomizer, the coils don't get enough eliquid and you experience a dry hit. Prime the coils well before you fill the tank (just drip 5 or 6 drops directly into the coil head), let them sit for a while, and then be very careful when you vape--don't over vape, chain vape, power vape.
Give your juice enough time to resaturate the filler between draws--or else.Turning down the voltage may not work, as BDC are dual coils that actually need more voltage than the singles to work properly. In my experience, they need 4+ volts to work well.

I always tilt it at a downward angle. I thought higher resistance coils handle higher voltage? I'm kind of a newb. Only being vaping about 4 months. I got the spinner 2 last week as an upgrade from my ego
Higher resistance coils do require higher voltage--but the calculations change a bit when you use dual-coil atomizers. More on the subject--if you're interested:
