I know it's advised to keep hydrated when vaping, and this doesn't happen all the time, but I noticed with a few juices that it kinda dries out my tongue or makes it burn. I only vape with a 50/50 mix right now, and I know that PG can irritate some people, but I have been doing 50/50 consistently for about a week so I wouldn't expect it to start bothering me now. It doesn't happen with every juice, just 2 so far. I also know about tongue bite from smoking because the nicotine gets on your tongue, but as far as I know no juice is getting on my tongue, at least none that hasn't already been vaporized. What could be the problem?

Nah just fruit vapes, 2 of the juices from the rawr line. I like them, they just don't like my mouth lol. Others are just fine. I'm definitely drinking water though.

Perhaps those two juices are more acidic. That will give you the tongue bite sensation.

Re the carto question: I routinely vape 50/50 mix, both in a carto on a Helix or in carto tanks. Always LR I have zero problems with wicking.

Yeah so do I, I'm just wondering if going with a higher vg mix will be bad for a carto. I'm kinda getting tired of cartos though, I can't seem to get it right without it leaking. That's why I'm gonna try an atty.

I can't speak to leaking I don't have the problem, even in tanks, sorry. Perhaps you draw too hard and fast on them?

I have been vaping 100% vg in my cartos for some time now and have not had any problems. My method is just to keep it moist at all times. Sometimes it gets a bit hard to get a drag using it, but after a few puffs it always gets easier. I use my cartos for weeks on end. My juice atm is from Aqua Vapor, its neither great, nor bad, but does the job.

I just started vaping about 3 weeks ago and was unaware that it caused dehydration. I just kept noticing that I was constantly thirsty. Now that I found this forum and know a little more about vaping I only drink water, and I always have a bottle with me. It's not only kept the cotton mouth at bay but also been great for flushing my kidneys...I'm pi$$ing more than I ever have.

I'll trade the ashtray mouth for cottonmouth any day! I'm loving being able to taste food again...never realized how much cigarettes killed my taste buds. My sinuses are also clearing up and I can smell things like never before (that I remember)...which has it's ups and downs ;)

Maybe I'm just not doing it right or overfilling and I still need practice. I'm just bothered because I'm wasting juice and I wanna get the hang of it sooner. Patience isn't my strong suit lol.

Well try not to get discouraged. Without a DCA or drip shield chances are an atty is going to leak on you too. A cartomizer and tank set up is great but there is a learning curve to figure out how many holes or slits in them for what juice. I use 2 roughly 1/4 inch slits in my cartos and use 40/60 or 100% vg without a problem. There are a few major reasons for leaking...one too much juice is getting in and flooding it. Typically either too big of a hole or too many holes for a thinner liquid. Two, too thick of a juice and it's not wicking right so it's just sitting in the bottom and running out. Three, there's a leak somewhere in the system. Maybe a fill port isn't air tight? Even the tiniest leak will force air into the tank and flood it no matter what juice or hole setup. Or four, you're just sucking in way too much. If you're drawing on it and it's just gurgling like crazy something ain't right. Why not try a vivi nova? They are essentially hassle free and fairly cheap and they don't leak at all.
