I was borrowing my bro's Atlantis, for awhile. I put a new coil in it, a couple days before I returned it. It was hitting great. When I give it back, we dump the juice back in a bottle and put the tank back in its original box. About a week later, he sells it to my brother in law. Here's the weird part - we fill up the tank, assuming the coil needs no priming, and fire it up. It seems to be weak on vapor production. It has the nice crackle/pop, and there is no burnt taste or dry hits, but it just isn't producing the volume it used to.

Is this because it sat for a week?

When you dumped the tank and put the tank back in the box, did you wash/rinse the tank and the attny/coil?

If you did, and then closed everything up in a box, it could be that the wick(s) still has some retained water, which will cause the symptoms you describe until the water has completely evaporated off.

It could just be me, but I would never dump juice from the tank back into a bottle of juice because I would be afraid it was contaminated in some way. Just me, I'm ..... If you did not rinse the coils before storing it, it probably had time to evaporate and leave gunk on the coils and that may be the reason for diminished vapor production. Could be. I am not really sure. Great question and I am sure we will both learn something which is really what it is all about. Happy vaping to you and your bro-in-law.:)

PV? I'm not familiar with this abbreviation.

No, did not rinse the coil. Just dumped the juice back into the bottle and boxed the atty up. It stayed there for a week, then I filled up the tank and it just did not produce like before. Before emptying the tank, the coil was only a couple days old and was hitting great.

Unfortunately we may never know. My brother in law is thinking that vaping is not for him (nothing to do with the weak production) and I might be taking the whole set up back to my bro who will probably just leave it in a box as he is normally using his Sigelli 150 and his Mutation.

PV stands for Personal Vaporizor. I am not really fond of that term myself.

I think it is wonderful that you have provided informed information as well as gear to help your BIL but the choice is really his to make, just as it was our choice. In the same position, I would just be patient and of course gently nudge because I am so passionate about vaping. If your brother is not going to use it, find someone else to help. I have given a lot of my unused stuff to friends. Just giving kudos to you for trying to help.

I've done exactly the same with tanks in the past and let them sit for six months at room temperature with no issues. IMO, something else changed.

It's too bad that me may never know, but that's the way it goes sometimes :)
