Dryburnt to death?

Hello all

I just tried to dry burn a BDC from Aspire and now can't get rid of the burnt taste. Did I just kill my Clearo? First time dry burning! Using a VV with Heisenberg so the taste is absolutely errrgh now.

I never dry burned coils like that. I only dry burn coils I built when there was no cotton in it. You probably burned the cotton. If so, the taste is there or use a new coil for it.

The first one I got I was so excited to use that I didn't steep it first. It burned up my coil wick and I had to swap it out as soon as I got home.

If you dry burnt it with the cotton in then it's time for a new coil..

It's toast...you can't dry burn those type coils with any positive affect.

As others have said, that coil is toast. The only coils you can dry burn are coils that use silica wick.

Ah... that I didn't know...well its not the worst thing I've ever done. Will I be able to just replace to coil or is the tank taste going to be contaminated? (I have juice in it at the moment). Is there a quick clean and dry method for the BDC or will I have to change coils for each flavor I use

If there aren't particles floating around in your juice, you can just change the coil and keep the juice in the tank.

People rinse the OCC coil heads with water, but I find it messes up the wicking and coils bad. I just use different coils for similar tasting flavours. I.e. I have one I keep for fruits only and after a couple vapes the old flavour disappears.

In all honesty, the BDC was only ever good for the bin.

I remember when they came out; one of the most experience vapers in the UK (6 years) couldn't get a decent hit off it it. Don't go buying loads of them...

I tried everything I could find about cleaning replaceable coils and I never had one that it worked on. Some of them can be rebuilt and rewicked, but if your going to go to that much trouble then you should probably just get something intended to be rebuildable.

They work fine for me until I try cleaning them. But that's the learning curve I guess. I don't have lots to spend and the BDC has no issues I've encountered really.

I only had to clean due to the rookie mistake of leaving fluid elsewhere and not having something compatible to put in with the remaining juice. Fruit mix doesn't go well with Heisenberg.

Aye I do agree. I'm new to vaping and not quite ready for advanced components yet. Give me time and I'm sure I'll be rebuilding wicks

Soaking them in alcohol overnight and letting dry for a day can remove most flavors. some will not come out, tobacco, cinnamon, strong vanilla, etc will not soak out.
This is one reason I use a tank for each flavor. I use cheap tanks though. Evods, T3's and protanks.
They are bottom single coils which I rebuild and use cotton in.

I've used T3S and ProTanks before. I don't really like them that much now. Never liked the T3S compared to the ProTank but I prefer the BDC on my VV batt as they are cheap in my local vape shop.

The t3S is much better if you drill out 2 of the air holes to 1/16. I do the same on my protank single BCC and Evods as well.
Usually on the coil heads you can pull out the silica and just rewick with cotton when the silica one gets gunked up or the flavor wick gets burned. I also recoil them.
With my rewicking I have no gurgling issues at all. Unless left in a hot car or something like that but the best of them will mess up if left in a hot car.
