DSE 901 battery mods?

Hi all,
I'm looking for some battery mods for the 901.. I have a dying battery (automatic) which I would like to take apart and use the connector to attach to a USB cable to make my own cheap pass-through. If anyone could send me any links with info, that would be greatly appreciated. I cannot think of where to even start! This is something that is new to me.

I should add that I'm open to any ideas for a battery mod. Maybe attaching the 901 battery connecting end onto a battery pack of some sort. Anything and everything, I'm just tired of buying new batteries..

Try this forum.
Hubby builds my mods. His first was the puck. Now he's made me a wooden box mod, but the inner workings are still the same. I don't know a voltmeter from a charger but the people here are skilled.
