Did all of the draining & dry burning procedures. Airflow has defininitely improved immensely, but the atty is just not nearly what it was a week ago. I can only conclude that the DSE601 is either not all that it's cracked up to be....or I just got one with a weak/gimped atty to begin with. Either way, it was a risk to spend $72 on a device with a permanent (virtually non-replaceable) atty. One could always buy another whole pipe body for 60-75% of the cost of a whole new DSE601 kit, but why bother? It's really too bad, because otherwise it is a finely crafted pipe. We live and learn! I have come to really enjoy the preference (and abundant vapor) that an epipe can produce; so my only feasible course of action is to seek out another epipe with a readily available and replaceable atty that is also quite afordable. I've heard the RS-888 can use a vast array of attys & carts from many different (large) pen style ecigs. That is a very redeeming feature, which would appear to be a bit more feasible in terms of engineering and cost effectiveness.

Sorry to hear you had problems with your 601 pipe. My pipe is 7 weeks old now and still kicks out tons of vapor. The throat hit is marginal, but that seems to be the norm for pipes. I should note that I haven't been using it daily for 7 weeks as I rotate between different devices on a regular basis...still, it's gotten plenty of use. For your pipe to go bad on you in just a week seems very unusual. But all these things are made in China so some of the time it's the luck of the draw as far as the longevity!

There has been a low percentage of DSE601 cases where the atty gave out or got weak very quickly. I guess Murphy just picked me this time after spending $72!!!

I am ADDICTED to epipe smoking at this point and will never be satisfied with relying on just my VX2's...even IF I had 100 of them....they just don't stack up to the vapor volume and overall pleasure of the epipe...not even close.

Don't get me wrong, my VX2's are GREAT while on the fly...but when I sit home and prop my feet up to relax in the evening I want some LONG LASTING HEAVY VAPING capability with NO CORDS + feasible and affordable parts availability.

With all due respect for Shawn, I have heard some very good things about the RS-888 Mini pipe, including killer throat hit as well as excellent atty & cart replacement versatility. I have found a U.S. source that had them on clearance for $39 each (and going fast). At that price, I simply could not resist. I have procured 3 of them (RS-888 Mini Pipe KITS) and suspect I'll be vaping on them for quite some time to come....since there are MANY carts & attys that work universally with them. If I did not grab these 3 now, I may soon have to pay $60 each plus $15 shipping and wait for them to ship from China (not very cost effective or speedy by comparison). So I grabbed them up very quickly! Now that I've experienced the pleasure of an epipe, I simply refuse to be without an epipe being always at my disposal. From my findings & research, there are no ecigs (mini OR pen style) with a comparable CORDLESS combination of vapor volume, battery capacity, cart capacity and abundance of cheap attys & parts.

As happy as I've been with Shawn's customer service and rapid shipping, I just can't keep buying the DSE601's. Due to the non-replaceable attys, they are THROWAWAYS and it's really too bad they were designed that way. It's like having a fancy looking expensive cigarette lighter that cannot be refilled..and it's totally illogical to buy any more of them. If they were $30-$40 a throw, that would be another thing entirely...but that's far from the case.

I saw that Shawn is selling the BIG bottles of juice now. Think I'll try that power puff in the highest nicotene and cut it with a VG mix.

If you haven't already, you should try a 701 e-cigar. Battery life is great, it's got a big cart which also lasts a long time and it's really the best device I have as far as the way the atty gets every drop of juice from the cart. Plenty of vapor and a much better throat hit than a 601 pipe. As to replacement carts, once the cigar dies you have to buy the entire tube which contains the atty. Shawn sells them for $21.95. Some might consider that pricey, but even with constant use my 701s have easily lasted a month or more. So even if it a person only gets a month of use out of it, it's still a LOT cheaper than analogs! :)

hmmm i hate to see someone be left out wihtout a pipe how bout this doc u pay for the shipping and ill send u a shiny new pipe body???

LOL...you've got a DEAL Shawn. Send a money request to my Paypal account. I'll send a copy of this message to your email. Just type in my email address on your Paypal money request and I'll send it along. Also, your price on the replacement DSE 601 Pipe Body is actually very reasonable. With that being said, I will probably be using my DSE601 for a long time to come. I've been finding new ways to drain the pipe even more effectively (see my recent posts for details). My DSE601 IS STILL WORKING SHAWN.....it's just dropped considerably in vapor production.

I tested those RS-888 Mini Pipes and I can see exactly why you choose NOT to STOCK them!!!

#1, They have some SERIOUS engineering issues. For someone who is majorly familiar with electromechanical fabrications and modifications, they make a great toy to MODIFY.....but for someone who is NOT a big time DIY freak, FORGET about the RS-888 Mini Pipe.

#2, They are too small to be truly classified as a pipe. So cute & petite that Women would even like them.....IF only they were more consistently reliable in the long term. Don't get me wrong, there are users who have minimal trouble with them....but not very many. This is where mfg consistency comes into play....and it is simply non-existent where the RS-888 Mini Pipe is concerned.

The DSE601 is far superior. IF only it had a removeable atty that was available for $8-$15, it would be absolutely 100% PERFECT (in my opinion).

EVERY LAST DROP FROM THE CART? WOW, that's RARE....I LIKE THAT! LONG BATTERY LIFE? I LOVE THAT!

LOL...I started vaping on 18JUL2009 (no analogs since 19JUL2009) and I already have 8....make that 7 PV devices (just burned up a VX2 atty from doing too long a cleaning burn cycle LOL). I won't be buying any more PV devices at the moment, but you are definitely not the first to highly recommend the 701 to me. Whenever I should decide to try out any more vaping devices, the 701 will probably be the very next one. I was going to place another order with Shawn this week, but it will have to wait until next week at this point. I'll go on the site & check out the 701 + parts/accys prices. Thanks.....

OK Shawn, thanks.

I sent an extra $10 for 2 boxes of loaded DSE601 carts, High nic. I simply have to try the Power Puff & cherry. I heard a lot of good things about power puff. So far, I like your RY4 the best...but from what I've been reading here, I may end up liking the Power Puff even better. If so, I'm glad to see you are selling it in the large bottles. Cut with some VG, that could turn out to be a very cost effective juice. At any rate, thanks again Shawn! You're still the #1 vaping supply guy!

What a RELEIF! I honestly did not think you had them....and I was not about to pay the price at a popular place we all know of in China + shipping (screw that!)

Sometimes it pays to simply OPEN YOUR EYES

$22 is a good deal, especially with Litecigs's fast and cheap US shipping. I already have some of the 360/500mah batteries (for a 510 passthru) and a charger for them, so all I would need is the atty and some cigar carts, right? Are blank cigar carts available?
