You can use the same pair in different mods, just keep the same batteries together. This is to insure as much as possible they are in the same condition, number or recharge cycles, etc.
In parallel mode boxes you can interchange them as long they are paired and as long as you like.
If you like to use them in serial mods also - it depends on... ;-)
The reason why the batteries have to be paired in parallel mode is this:
If you use them with differend chargeing status the current also flows between the two batteries. This leads to chemical instability and in worst case to a worst case ;-)
For the following you have to know what you do - always safety comes first!
In serial mode theoretical it isn't neccesary to pair them because the currents comes as a total from both batteries.
Let's say first battery has 2.8V and the other has 4.2V. In total you have 7.0V. Til now there is no problem.
Here comes the practical problem. The box can not see the "underload" (sorry for my english) of the first one an if you hit the fire button
you can forget the first battery.
This is great news as I have been using my pairs in specific mods, which has made "charging scheduling" a pain. Now that I know I can interchange pairs I will be in good shape.
I am expecting a dual 18650 mechanical mod in a few days and am looking for suggestions of which batteries to use in it. Links are very appreciated. Thanks so much.
To help narrow down your choices you can check my Safety Grades table (link in my signature). If your new mech uses parallel batteries just double the current you see in the table to get an idea of how much current you can safely send to your coil(s).
Thanks. I see that vapor dna has what appear to be vtc5 in Stock. Since they are local to me I'm considering going with those. From what I hear they should be a good choice, just want to make sure that is correct and ask if anyone has purchased these from them and can vouch for their authenticity.
VTC5's are great batteries and two in parallel will handle 30A nicely. Even a bit higher if you don't mind the batteries wearing out a bit faster. VTC4's are a better choice in my opinion if you'll be drawing more than 30A.
I can't say anything one way or another about VaporDNA and batteries.
