Hey all, as a few of you may know, I'm not real great at building my kayfun. I got it in prep for the P3 release, and it's an authentic with a super nice glass kit and top fill cap. the only svoemesto part remaining is really the base. Honestly I should have just bought the base and lower part of the chimney direct from svoemesto because it probably would have saved me some money but oh well. Here's my Kayfun

Not to toot my own horn, but wouldn't it be a tragedy to not use such a nice looking piece on something as nice as the P3?

So here's what I did

Yes it's a dual 26 gauge coil. Usually a build like this would come out to .3 ohms or so, but I did it all one strand of wire, so the positive comes off of one coil, and the negative comes off the other coil, and they are both linked. It's all connected. I got the inspiration for this because I've seen people do dripper builds with like 8 coils, and its basically 4 pieces of wire with two coils per piece of wire.

The build came out at 1.3 ohms and I'm sure you can imagine how the cotton winds up looking in there. I use Koh Gen Do and really enjoy it. The only problem is that it takes a little bit to spool up and start cranking out the vapor, but with that boost mode on the P3, I bet it'll run like a top. Currently running it on my Cana DNA30 at 12 watts, but I've had it up to 13.5 watts with no trouble. I've abandoned all hopes that I'll ever be able to run it at 20 watts, because that was my hope in the past, but I just can't build it to get there, especially with 100% VG juice. Anybody else do something like this with their kayfun?

I did a dual coil build on a "quad" channel KFL, but it was parallel.

It vaped great, but the quad channel base is garbage and ultimately starts leaking.

More recently, I've been playing with dual coil builds on my Lemo's which are Kayfuns on steroids.

That was my first go at it. This morning I put another build in it with dual coils, 12 wraps of 28ga each, with a 2.2mm ID. I did try to do a dual series coil like you did, but it didn't turn out how I envisioned and scrapped it before vaping it.

Won't this melt the base positive base insulator thingy? :?:

No because it's still a 1.3 ohm coil. If it were a true 26 gauge dual coil running on a mech at .3 ohms then yeah it probably would and would dry hit really bad in my case. It's all about how many watts are going to the coil, not what ohms the coil actually is.

I redid it as a true dual coil with 30 gauge for .9 ohms. I tried it with 29 gauge and it came out at .6 or .7, not high enough for the new Provari to run at. This .9 ohm dual coil is 8 or 9 wraps of 30 gauge around a 1.5mm bit and is working fantastic. I've been running it at 14-17 watts and its been doing great. I have to prime it occasionally at 17 watts but thats not a big deal since I'm a Reonaut at heart and it's similar to squonking

Just finished a dual coil build on my lemo. 24 gauge .8 ohm total: amazing! Being able to open up the airflow on a lemo vs kaifun made a world of difference in choking out vs enjoying the vape.

Those coils must be MASSIVE to get .8Ω running dual 24ga coils! I'd love to see a pic if you got one.
