T for Texas!
I received my Tobh RDA clone today.

I'm new to RDA/RBA having built about 4 coils on my Kayfun Lite (with success for the most part with just a boo boo or 2).

I'm having some problems getting both coils to fire. If I build it single coil it works like a charm (1.4 ohm), but when I connect both coils it doesn't want to fire properly.

I'm using 28 gauge kanthal with about 8-9 wraps. I connect the leads through the negative posts and shared leads through the positive post. I suspect I'm not connecting it correctly but any advice or how tos is appreciated.

Sounds to me like you are connecting it properly. I don't know what 'it doesn't want to fire properly' means though.

If it's not firing at all, can your mod handle the current draw? 1.4 ohms will fire on a lot of regulated mods, but 0.7 ohms, which is what two 1.4 ohm coils in parallel meter will fire on only a few regulated mods. If you're using a mechanical mod, as long as you're not using protected batteries you shouldn't have to worry about this.

If you're having problems getting both coils to fire at the same time, then you have probably not screwed down all the post screws properly. There is also a chance that a negative post is not making good contact with the deck. You can take out the coils and test continuity between the top of each negative post and the deck. Each should meter zero resistance (or very close to that).

Hope this helps :)
