My dc smoktech cartos get gunked up after 2-3 days (using melon with added caramel). Tried soaking in hot water , seem to work for a few hours. After that tasteless, lots of vapor though.

How thick is the juice you're using? Any flavouring sediment in the juices?

1.5 ohms @ 3.7 volts. Many thanks in advance.

Real 3.7 or eGo? Well, not that it should matter, though I suppose it also depends on how much you vape in a day. I go through about 3ml a day and my DCCs have all lasted at least 5-6 days before they get to the point where they need a cleaning. Even then they usually aren't too bad, just the draw gets a little tighter. When I clean them though I run them under fast-running hot water (held with some pliers) for several minutes, blowing out periodically. Then I'll stick them in an inverted sock (yeah, seriously) open-side down and spin them around to let centrifugal force bring the water out to the top so it can dry better, then leave them 24 hours to dry the rest of the way. Works pretty well for me.

A couple of things that can happen from the factory. 1. the sock doesn't wind up around the coil to protect the cotton blanket. 2. the cotton blanket wasn't packed tight enough to keep the sock against the coil for good wicking.

A couple of things that can happen from the user. 1. Chain vaping that the wicking can't keep up with. (my no 1 problem lol) 2. not keeping the inner blanket wet. 3. juices that have lots of ingredients that caramelize.

If you wet them good and didn't chain vape too hard, I'd contact the vendor and ask for some help. Also, are the tubes (socks) black?

I have been using Dual coils since May and they last a very long time for me. In fact I still have some 2 ohm ones from May that still work good. These have been the best cartos I have ever tried. The filler/wrap that is burnt in the pics is suppose to make contact with the coils. I have taken 1 apart and it will brown some after a lot of use but shouldn't burn like that if it is kept wet. I run my 1.5s and 2.0s at 11 - 12.7 Watts on my Darwin. The best way I have found to fill these is to put the condom on the battery end and then drip around the center air channel part until the juice pools on top. I then take a pin and stick it down the sides to get any air out which allows the pooled juice on top to make its way down. I then take the condom off and allow any excess juce to come out. Before refilling I blow them out to remove condensation and little remaining juce out. I have never gotten any burnt taste. I picked up a DCT Map tank from E-Cigg City in Laguna Beach and I absolutely love it!! If you like dual coils pick one up. The owner, Jason, told me 1 dual coil should last a month easy because it is kept wet. Its a little tricky filling these at 1st but after practice it becomes easy.

Yeah i am not a fan of the Dual Coil Cartomizers. Not one of them has hit the same and i have tried 6 so far. Some suck, some produce hardly any vapor and some work awesome with decent vapor and good throat hit. To me the Dual Coils are very unreliable and i would rather use boge cartomizers.

Edit: The dual coil cartos i have are 1.5 ohm smoktechs from myvaporstore.com

Just tossed two dc cartos away. Got tired of trying to make them good again. In all about 10days for 2 units. Think the tank should help lifespan.Just that the dct map tank is always out of stock and the liquinator may have issues.

From what i have seen, the liquinator has no issues. Just be careful with it and dont go yanking your PV out of your pocket by the tank and you should be fine.

There was a bad batch of smoketech DCs recently (at least one vendor is getting replacement DCs from smoketech) . So your experience might be related to this. Check with your vendor and see whether others are experiencing the same short lifespan.

View attachment 50154View attachment 50155.........Can someone post a picture of a naked clear dual coil from smoktech. (

If you slide the transport out to 14:30 and start from there, you can see the two coils heated until they fail, and you can also see that the the tube material doesn't burn. If the tube is around the coils and the cotton blanket is tight, and they're kept wet, the duel coils are very resistant to singing. A PBusardo Review : Boge 510 LR Carto Vs. Smok Tech 510 LR Dual Coil Mega Carto - YouTube

When you took yours apart was the sock around the top coil like it's supposed to be or was it like it is in the picture? Also was the cotton blanket good and tight?

I still think you should contact your vendor and ask for some help. Perhaps point him toward this thread so he can see the pics??

This is very good to know. Maybe thats why my Dual Coils are very unreliable right now. It almost made me not buy them again but now that i know this i will have to try again from a vendor i know sells tons of them and hope all the bad ones have been sold and gone.
