Dual coil cartos

So I recently got a 900 mah ego twist. I had some smoketek 1.5 dual coil XL cartos I put in a tank. There doesn't seem to be any difference in the throat hit at the different voltages. Plus it kills my battery really quickly. Is this common or do I just have a couple bad cartos?

I never did see much of a difference other than the quicker batt drain. some people love them though.
