Hey people, I've been experiencing a problem with my nimbus clone and the dual coil method. Yes, I know, clones=problems, but I was hoping I could maybe tinker around and try and fix it myself without going out and buying a new atty. One coil is definitely getting hotter much quicker than the other. I've recoiled it several times myself and had two other experienced vape-pros recoil it for me and the same problem keeps occurring. Any advice or reasoning as to why this is happening? Much appreciated in advance.

Really?? Umm is it april already? Check out the micro coil build thread.. You have no consistency in your 2 coils. It's like you have a 10 watt light bulb and a 100 watt light bulb, and you wonder why one is brighter than the other. They need to be the same diameter and # of loops, spaced the same distance apart. Use like a 1/16" drill bit or a blunt nose syringe needle, or a paper clip to wrap your coil around, use the same # of coil loops for each one. Squeeze them together with some tweezers then torch them till they glow red.

I apologize, for laughing, but that build made me laugh, so thinking it's a joke. Do some research, and go with single coil builds till you can get them to rock, before going dual's.

Right, I apologize for my noobdom. Only had my atty and mech mod for a week now. I'm constantly trying to improve my wrapping skillz, but my efforts seem almost futile. Thanks for the harsh critique, but now I'm thinking that its my firing button on my sentinel m16 clone. I'm going to invest in a nice apv soon. I've been thinking the innokin svd, but just gotta wait till that next paycheck comes in. I'll try evening out the spacing. Again, thanks for the advice, Ima try and work it out.

has nothing to do with being a clone, the two coils must be as close to identical as possible. same wraps, same length and same resistance.

but now I'm thinking that its my firing button on my sentinel m16 clone

again nothing to do with the clone if it was firing button problem they both wouldnt work, to the mod and battery it doesnt matter if it is single, dual or quad coils. electricity flows or it doesnt. try to make two coils that are the same even the length of the legs coming off the coil into the posts needs to match.

Here is a good read from Baditude's blog. Very good info for newcomers at RBA's
