I just noticed the coils that came with my AT mega are different than all my other kanger 2.0 ohm dual coils. The ones with the mega have 2 round holes on each side to let the juice get to the wicks. All of my other coils only have one of those openings per side.

The mega doesn't use a different coil than the mini or MOW, does it? If so, where do I find them? The only ones I see like this are the FT clone ones.

Here is what I understand is the newest dual coils for the Giant, Mega and Mini Aerotanks: ... (fits the older design Kanger Aerotank and Protank 3 also)

Newest V3 with (1ea) Large Elongated hole on each side: (these are very new)

Newer V2 with (2ea) Small Round holes on each side: (readily available)

One other thought on this as someone who has an Aero Mini and Mega and bought coil replacements.

The factory coils on the Aero Mega are 2.0 ohms. They have the separate dual holes.

The factory coils on the Aero Mini are 1.5 ohms. They have the single large slots, as do the lower resistance and "Kanger Subohm" versions.

Are we sure this isn't just a design difference between the higher and lower resistance heads? That Kanger didn't move to the slotted design to increase wicking speed for them?

I bought 2 boxes of both 1.5 and 2 ohm heads at the same time 2 weeks ago from the biggest Kanger account in town. The 2 ohms had the same 2 hole design. The 1.5s? The slots.

So is this really a revision, or just a design change for the low res heads? Has anyone seen a new design (Sealed) 2 ohm coil with slots yet?

Just my observations and food for thought. Vape on all.

No it is not a design difference. The reason they went from the 2 holes to the one hole is because the wick was coming out of the 2 hole coil.

i went from 2.5 to 1.5 and found the vapor so much better. Better taste and larger vappor cloud.
I haven't tried the .8 yet but now that i have the ipv2 50 watt box i will.
The kanger mega was my favorite until i got a kaiser and a fogger 4.4 and started building my own coils.

FYI... if you get your hands on the old style (with wicks sticking out) you CAN rebuild those easily.

BTW... they just released a new version of the aero tank. It now has an updated air ring much like the mega.

No, I've bought 4 boxes of the 2.0 ohm coils and they all look like v3.

Didn't I hear someone say that the chimney tube on the new dual coils would pop off for rebuild? The deep welded tube on the old ones makes it a little hard to insert a coil, although it can be done if you have the dexterity. The tough part is the blanket inside. It's easy to knock it around too much and end up with a throwaway.

OK, my post clearly wasn't very...clear. My basic point is this. From what I've seen there are 2 generations of Kanger BDC heads. The ones with the wicks exposed, and the sealed ones. The minor difference the holes vs. slots doesn't reflect a running change. The 2 ohm coils that came standard with my 2 Megas have the 2 hole design. The lower resistance coils (Including the 1.5s they pack with the AT Mini) use the slots. Lower resistance = more heat = more need to get juice rapidly into the coil = more open surface area for wicking.

Well, I stand corrected ... As I said ... "Here is what I understand" :)

BTW, I have also seen some of these new style coils for sale that are 1.8 ohm.

So, as far as the newer style without the exposed wick, I guess you can get them in 2.0, 1.8, 1.5 and now I guess the new 0.8 ohm.

I think 1.0 ohm as well. I haven't seen the 1.8, hmm.

You can get the new style apart I guess, but not easily.
