Hey guys, I was thinking about buying a Helios rda because I want to make my first dual coil build. But there is one problem...I don't have a mech mod. I have an MVP v2 but I can't have the ohms too low or it won't fire. And I know when you build dual coils it splits your resistance in half. How to I make two coils that are 3 ohms. I've never made such a high Ohm coil!

Thanks!

With your MVP you should be able to fire coils that are above 1.2 ohms i believe. If I were you I'd aim for 1.5 or so - that's a good vape for me and you'll get better flavor with the micro coil. What gauge kanthal are you using and what diameter are you wrapping your coils at. are you using a drill bit? given these 2 variables I could maybe estimate the ohm you'd end up with.

Typically I use 28g and 1/8" drill bit - about 12 wraps on each side sounds about right. Your MVP should have an ohmmeter.

Well I want to make dual coils on this Helios I bought. Now my plan is to wrap two identical coils, 12 wraps of 28 gauge kanthal A-1 on a 1/16 drill bit. Hoping that they both will end at 1.5 ohms. Which if I'm right (and there is a great possibility that I'm not) they both will add up to 3 ohms which would cuz that in half to 1.5.

I apologize of I sound stupid. I don't know that much about dual coil builds.

Actually two 1.5 ohm coils will result it .75 ohm total resistance. You want to make two 3 ohm coils which will net a 1.5 ohm total resistance. Also on regulated device I had better luck with 30 ga kanthal as 28 ga will require too many wraps and your regulated device will take a long time to heat up the coils.
