Maybe I am ready to go mech!! But at what point do you change the battery in a mechanical? I keep reading about batteries getting to low and thats not good. Can someone explain that to me?
Less than 0.2 ohms is still unsafe with a 30 amp battery. First off, you are pretty much maxing out its safe amp limit. These numbers aren't exact, and no one really knows what they mean in terms of safety. Always leave a buffer to keep yourself safe... I would not go below 0.4 ohms. What if your ohm reading is off by just a tenth or so? Let's say your coil isn't totally settled in its connection. However lots of reckless folks are pushing it every day. The choice is up to the user, just make sure you understand first so it actually is a choice.
You notice when your battery starts getting low. The vape gets weak. When you first start out with a mech, you should check the battery voltage every hour or so of vape time until you get a feel for what "less than 3.6 V" vapes like. Most people charge at that point, and it can be harmful to your batteries to go below 3 V, especially if you do it all the time.
I recommend sticking with your regulated mod and coils above 1 ohm for a while, it may be all you really need.
EDIT: I just want to clear up that I don't mean "reckless" in a necessarily bad way. I have no problem with risk-takers in any aspect of life, it just worries me when someone uninformed does not know the potential dangers of a situation and are just blindly following something they read about. Do not fear mechs and low ohms, just arm yourself with the inherent protection of knowledge and having a healthy respect of the unknown.
