Whether single or dual depends mostly on your build deck.
A lot of rda's are designed for dual coil, and if you do a single coil you get too much extra airflow passing through.
For me, Flavor depends on wattage settings. Also for me, I enjoy double coils. But single is great too, Because I still love me subtank mini by kanger and that is a single coil (RBA).

In my considerations of doing a single coil where a dual coil is designed, I thought the extra air space just confused the vapor. I use single coils for single coil setups an dual coil setups get dual coils. A tight chamber also helps. Well, depends on your end result.
Flavor is going to depend on a lot of things. Ideally you want a small or reduced chamber, ability to control airflow, and the time to play around with coil properties such as placement, size, and gauge.
