Orderd a sigelei SS Telescope from Vapeking, and as usual I decided that this cheap Chinese mod could make itself a permanent home to one of my homeless gennys.
Work Done:

sigelei

1. Modded switch with lighter spring
2. Shortened throw with winding new spring down onto and through bottom c-clip slot.
3. Removed 510 plastic bush and contact pin.
4. Ground down top of mod body( with pillar drill and disc cutter.
5. Sanded and polished all body parts.
6. Sanded and polished switch firing pin

DID

1. Lengthened positive pin at 510 connection with heatproof silicone spacer
2. Drilled additional 3.5mm wickhole in top platform.
3. Polished top platform.
4. Installed unoxidized 40mmx95mm #200 U-wick and wrapped 4 wrap 28g Kanthal coil
5. Pulsed to setup coil

Result:
Very happy,I;m getting a good 3.85v with the 0.8Ohm coil on a fresh 18500.
The button is great with a very short easy operation, but it is just the right tension to stand it up without locking the button.
Vapeking states "Sigelei SS Telescope 18350/18650 MOD Body,Min length is about 8.5cm"
finished length in 18500 mode of the Sigelei section of the mod is now 7.5cm, and the picture shows size in 18500 mode against the Zmax.
The U-wick is glorious on the DID with the 4wrap 28g.

Another genny with a good home for $40

Nice work as usual.

How about a quick pic?

Thanks

Here you go mate, the full switch mod in stages with final voltage 0.8 Ohm coil with an AW 18500 at 4.15v no load giving 3.92-3.93v under load, not too shabby me thinks.
The copper wire used is from 1.8mm (od of plastic casing) speaker wire.
Condom from carto (white silicone thingy on battery stop rubber)was used to create some extra shimming and pre-load for a tighter battery fit and less slop in threads.

Very nice.

You sir are a modder in the truest sense of the word. A simple and elegant way to make an inexpensive PV work better than many of the elitist, over priced things out there.

Making things shiny is not important to me, but making things better sets you apart from the herd.

As they say the proof is in the pudding. :)

Thanks for the kind words WB, after a fresh charge I'm now getting over 3.95v and my 0.8ohm coil is really more like 0.7 ohms so I can put this one on shelf next to my natural and Paps hybrids with a sense of true satisfaction. Still have another two DIDs to find interesting homes for, so maybe an all brass KTS modded to within an inch of its life is next :)

Studiovap - Beautiful work.

So how is that atty connecting to the battery? Also what was your voltage under load before the mod?

Hey gdeal, the connection is the same as the Natural hybrid I posted about. Just extended the DID's positive post via a heatproof silicone washer or washers(washer/spacer was punched out of a silicone ovenproof mini muffin tray no less LOL, $3 for a life times supply of heatproof silicone spacers and washers) behind the Teflon/delrin 510 sleeve on the bottom of the atty.
The battery will hit that terminal long before it shorts out on the grounded ss even under compression from tightening down the telescope. Voltage under load was around 3.78v with that Ohmage of coil before modding.
I have to say though, I have since been lookin at inserting a ss or brass sleeve into the base to take a solid brass switch shaft, due to the quick wearing and insubstantial switch post channel setup that exists at present.
Been buying copper and brass bits, but havnt got round to that yet.
Having said all that it's still performing very very well and I love the DID with the #200 u-wick.

Here's the KTS or CHI CHI I modded.
Replaced battery post with solid brass rod and delrin sleve.

3.9v at atomizer terminals with 0.9 Ohm coil and well used AW 18500 IMR.

18350 mode after deknurling and polishing. looks pretty good with a DID standard.

Ok, I missed that link in your AGA-T/Paps Hybrid thread (Smok Natural DID Hybrid & Upgrade)

That was brilliant as well. While I think I understand what you did, I do know that you sir, have mad modding skills.

Also, nice pick up in power on this one. Looks about +10%?
