Hey everyone,

I'm a couple of months into very successful vaping, no smoking at all. Wanted to share a light bulb moment I just had, in case it might help someone whose brain works (or not) like mine does.

Occasionally in the last few weeks I've had a very mild headache, not at all normal for me. I checked all the boxes, nicotine strength - don't think that's it. Dehydration, not that's not it. Sinus congestion, nope, nose is clear.

Aha! I figured it out today.:) It seems it is very hard to manage one's addictions in this life I live. I'm a pretty heavy coffee drinker, and have been for years. I'm retired, and my morning routine did consist of drinking a lot of coffee while smoking and spending time on the computer checking out everything online.

My new found love for vaping has changed that routine just enough, that I haven't been drinking enough coffee! That's why I've had the mild headaches. Caffeine withdrawal! Time formerly spent pouring and drinking those extra cups is now spent checking my charged batteries, filling up different tanks, checking juice levels, etc. etc. While I've been doing all that, I haven't been drinking my normal allotment of coffee.

Now if I just had three hands......:D

Aha! Thank you! Now i know why I'm headachey and kinda zombie like. I realized I've only been having 1 or 2 cups a day! I used to have easily twice that, sometimes more in cold weather.

Hope that's it for you, too. Caffeine withdrawal is a real thing, and can be severe depending on the person. Even a few cups less can make a difference I've found.

For a bit in my past I lived paycheck to paycheck, many times towards the end of the week I had to decide whether to buy cigs or soda (my caffeine of choice), most times I choose the soda, because the physical withdrawal was worse from the lack of caffeine for me.

Unfortunately for me, vaping has not changed my bad Mountain Dew habit . However, I am well aware of the mild headache you mention when I haven't had my caffeine in a long while.

FWIW, a doctor mentioned to me that headaches associated with caffeine would pass in a day or so if I would give it up.

But I'm not addicted to Mountain Dew. I drink for the flavor. ;)

I went through something similar.

When I quit analogs I decided to stop drinking the ridiculous amounts of energy drinks and coke that I had been for years, every day. I just went cold turkey.

BAM!
Intense thumping headache! Cold sweats! Shaky hands! Weakness!

That .... lasted almost a week too, and it was apparently my body adjusting to the sudden drop in sugar and caffeine.

I have had a 6-8 can a day diet coke habit for many years (hate coffee and tea, both). I recently found this:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005L99402/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_0

Using the very smallest of these measuring spoons into 12 oz of water gives me the same caffeine that was in my can of soda:

Amazon.com: Norpro 3080 Mini Measuring Spoons, 5 Piece Set: Kitchen & Dining

And at that rate, the bag of caffeine will last me a looooooooong time.

Way cheaper than soda, and no more worries about the large amount of aspartame I was consuming.
