dumb question #347 - how many different names is there for the happy ego that I purchased?
I open the box & it says ego-t on unit...so it's the same as joye?....is it also a 510?...just curious as there's SOOOOOOO many options & toys - particularly the
[h=3]GotVapes VISION DEUX[/h]

The eGo is manufactured by JoyE and can be branded as the Happy eGo (Happy Vaper) or the Tornado (Totally Wicked) ect...

Two things that should point you in the right direction: if it contains a certificate of authenticity or inspection, it is a fake. JoyE do not provide these. The other is price point.

Joyetech brand offline electronic cigarette shops why Happy Vaper is not listed is beyond me.

However in China the 2 main distributors Health Cabin and Heaven Gifts are both authorized JoyE distributors.

With soooooooo many companies making "eGo's", 99% of them being knock offs, it's hard to tell. The only company who should be allowed to brand anything eGo is Joye... but Chinese laws are pretty lax.... with that said, it doesn't mean a knock off isn't good. If the battery says eGo-T on it, that means it should have a 5 click shut off feature.

eGo batteries have 510 threading, so any atty that is labled 510 will work on this.

eGo's have an ouside threading as well, this lets you put a heat shield on, or an eGo style atty, which goes over the outside threading. These also have 510 threading for the battery connection.

Now not to confuse, but there is also 306 atty's. If you drip, it's a must have, they rock. They also have 510 threading....

We are starting to see a trend now with brands naming their atty's now. For example SmokTech naming their 2.5 ml Carto's "Echo" then they tag on "E" meaning it only fits on an ego (which by default is 510 threading). "Echo-E"

Hope this demistifys the eGo for you.

Some would argue you can, however I wouldn't advise it. There are plenty of E-Liquid vendors who have very good nic E-Liquids. I would highly suggest starting there.

I don't really suggest you try to obtain your own nicotine from other devices and make your own in house nicotine juice unless you know what your doing. You need to know the exact concentration your getting out of it and nicotine in high enough concentration can be fatal to you. The last thing we need right now in the vaping community is someone that kills themselves because they where playing with levels of nicotine that was to high. If you want to make your own juices thou i would suggest you check on the forums and buy dyi material for it. Some vendors sell 48-100mg vg or pg base juice with no flavor. This way you can make your own juice, again its is not recommended unless you know what your doing. I woudnt suggest vaping any concentration of nicotine above 36mg actually.

If you do want to do it and want to test your eliquid, i've located a site that sells lab grade material and science kits in Canada you can buy from. Just shoot me a pm and i'll give you there site. Its pretty much where I do plan on getting some of my equipment when I do start dyi stuff. Just remember to wear rubber gloves and cover yourself when your doing it.

The nic in a niccorette inhaler is soaked in a sponge and would totally advise trying to extract it wouldnt yeild enough for anything productive anyways

That is a good question. I don't know other businesses that can (exemple) make Camry cars made by another company than Toyota. I don't understand what is goin on. Help me on understand on this one.

I wouldn't recommend it. Nicorette inhalers content is intended to be inhaled without heat. Not sure if all their ingredients are suitable for vaping.

By the way, all new Joye Egos have "Joyetech(tm)" printed on them now. They also have a don't-throw-in-garbage symbol and "CE" etched on the silver band by the button. Old stock won't have these markings, but I got the newly branded stuff from HealthCabin.

I believe this is Joye's attempt to distinguish itself from copycats. To further complicate the issue is rebranding, which is what Happy Vaper does.

Finally, they shouldn't have called the battery an Ego-T. The tank has nothing to do with the battery. It's just the latest version of the Ego battery.

This is both true and not.

"eGo" has become synonymous with a 650, 3.7v in a barrel body. Most manufacturers make these in some form - and some with very different internals and engineering, even separately patented designs (different modulators, regulators, etc). There is a list of ecig manufacturers holding patents on their hardware - most of them offer an "eGo type".

Bootlegging - on the other hand - is where something is made "illegally and unofficially and without permission". Bootlegged goods are generally of lower quality - but otherwise branded and marketed as the under the original name brand.

Creating multiple brands of a similar product and adopting a well known name is not unusual and certainly not limited to China or ecigs. In the UK - almost every vacuum cleaner is called a "hoover" (a brand name). In Canada - almost all snowmobiles were called "ski-doos" while that brand name was also popular.

Maybe what is needed is for someone to come up with a descriptive term for this style of ecig that can be applied universally to all manufacture models. Much like what is done with the portable computer (now known as a laptop or notebook).
