Carts are reusable until the heat of the atomizer melts the cart fibers which prevents the liquid from flowing. The time it takes for this to happen all depends on the size of the atomizer, the amount of liquid keeping it wet and the user activating the atomizer.

In general a cart can be refilled 2-3 dozen times, but most people just top it off every 3-4 uses.

Hello Bluebird:

Welcome to ECF. Some here actually do reuse the carts. You can remove the old filling and restuff them with new quilt batting. The batting can be purchased at a fabric/sewing store.

Also, some here are now using hemp tea bags, thanks to an experiment and suggestion preformed by Surbiton Pete. The idea with the hemp tea bag (loosley rolled) is that, if it were to burn with the heat of the atomizer you would not inhale the plastic stuff in the fiber of the cartridges.

Thanks for welcome. I am really looking forward to never smoking another reg. cigarette again. Analog, I believe is the term:D Great way to put it.
The hemp tea bag is an interesting idea. I'm going to go through my pre-filled then try filling my own.

You will know when your cart is fried when the cotton looks like caramel. (But don't eat this, it RARELY taste's like caramel)
Juicing is the ONLY way to go. A freshly juiced cart will give the best throat hits.

It's sort of like yellow snow rarely tastes like a lemon snow cone.
How much juice do you normally put into a cart? A couple of mm?

I fill mine till it actually "Pools" up at the top. That way when I put the cart on, a couple of drops go directly on to the atomizer. Kinda like dripping and topping off in one shot. I use the BE-112, so my carts are pretty big and "Pooling" it wont make it seep in to my mouth. But when it does get in my mouth I get a hell of a nicotine buzz. Might just add a little to my soda right now!

I know this is a simple and silly question but I'm new to the e-cig community.
What are the pros to filling your own carts?
I guessing it cheaper. But carts are not reusable, are they?

Hi Bluebird :) If I may make a suggestion. 100% polyester batting works very well for re-stuffing carts. :)

Bluebird....
Remember that alot of people here have their own ideas of "what's best". Alot depends on what model of e-cig you have. I have a DSE901 and stopped using carts 2 weeks into it. That particular model makes it easy to just simply drip 2 or 3 drops of juice directly on the atomizer bridge. I figuer that its close to 1.5 - 2 analogs each time....and I get great flavor, throat-hit, and vapor.

A lot of tips and advice. Thank you very much to all. I've been off analogs now for 2 days and loving it. :thumb:

Congrats Bluebird:thumbs: Stick with it and you wont be disappointed.

My fiance and I have been completely tobacco free for 8 days now. We were both almost pack a day smokers. When we got e-cigs, I dropped to 1 or 2 analogs a day...she was still at 5 or 6. I feel better. She feels better. And once I break even on my purchases, my bank account will feel better too!
