I had a post duplicate after a long delay. I know it's not unheard of. I can't even say if I pushed "Submit" twice. However the results of the following concern me:
I edited the 2nd redundant post to say "duplicate post" or some such... and now... strange things happen. If I'm logged out and viewing the thread, I see the ORIGINAL unedited/duplicated post. If I log in, I see the edited "duplicate post" text message. Also, others looking at it see only the original unedited (duplicated) post...not my edit.
I made other posts and edited them, the others see the edits. So... IDK. Maybe it only happens in a blue moon. What concerns me is that what I see for a post is not what others see. This should not be possible (I mean that it should be designed to be impossible for this to happen, not that it's impossible for a computer to do it). There should be one and only one possible latest version of a post...and everyone should see the same thing.
If I cannot guarantee that what I see is what everyone else sees... that makes me very uncomfortable... even for small infrequent glitches.
Please advise. Here's a link to the 1st of the two posts. The duplicated post immediately follows it. Try it logged out and logged in.
