The Itaste MVP will give you the battery life.
Is compact and will fit in your shirt. buy a Power Bank on ebay and you can recharge it in your pocket.!
I'm not sure about the ruggedness factor.

The Provari will be too big for your pocket.
It is the most durable, Reliable, unit in the Industry. Just carry extra batteries

Do you have small pockets?

I've often kept my Provari (extended mode) with a cartotank in a front jeans pocket. It's not THAT big.

Yeah I work in the oil industry myself in the refining end. I would never carry my provari out here. For people who don't know, in this industry, maybe not what your doing ln your end, but I work around chemicals, that can corrode a new brass key and turn it almost black in a very very short time. Couldn't imagine what it could do to the electronics in my provari. So with that said, durability wise you should stick with a strictly mechanical mod. I personally carry a smoktek telescope at work when out in the field. I have nothing against an 18650 mod, I own several both VV/VW and straight mechanicals. The telescope is just easier because it will accept any battery I throw in it. 18350, 18500 and 18650's Ck out pbusardo's review on it. It gets small and more pocket friendly to carry. Ck out PBusardo's review. Anyway that's just my choice. I did get a LRider transformer for tje same reason. That one does go to work as well. I will update any problems I have with the electronics after it being around this stuff. It's more or less a test platform for this environment. And time will tell. But at least I'm only risking a $70 mod and not my provari. Of course these are only my opinions. But a strictly mechanical wins hands down for reliability ...there's nothing to break down.

Well, OP, you've gotten advice someone who knows the wear & tear your device will be subjected to. I'd have to second a "real world" users opinion in this case. And this from a Provari fan......*gasp*

hey Trey,

...thought I would add my thoughts. I like stuff to be built to last, myself. Indestructible....that's great...
...I am pleased to hear the Provari comments about what they have withstood, I own one... and I do think you might make that fit into your pocket. I think they are built well, and the guarantees and replacement provisos that accompany a purchase are a big plus.
...However, I don't discount the real-world sentiments of Offday at all. And with that in mind, I think you would be looking for a well-built mechanical mod (no wires/chips/electonics at all). Perhaps a telescoping model, if that is important to run multiple sizes of safe batteries.
...Bulletproof then might be a simple 510/ego adapter with an Ego tank atomizer + refillable tanks on top of that mod. There are some options with that, I suppose... I don't know if you think you would like to move toward the rebuildable type of atomizer, or would prefer to buy replacement atomizers. Or replacement cartomizers, for that matter (where I would think in that case to use a carto tank like the fluid flask, or a Stainless Steel tank, something that screws down and isn't held at any joint with a friction type o-ring.

...at any rate... I wanted to chime in to follow the thread a bit too. Like I said, the rugged gear is a good subject for discussion.
...I'll look for your (and the others) further comments. All the best.. Cheers, ~M

It doesn't really sound as though you need Variable Voltage. So with that in mind, I would recommend a ProVape 1. It is almost a mechanical mod, smaller and lighter than a ProVari, the battery should last a little longer as well, it is also the only mod under $100 to carry a lifetime warranty. For some reason, people always seem to forget that it exists. :)

If you wanted to spend the extra money, I would recommend a ProVari or a Reo, but for a no frills, basic mod I don't think the ProVape 1 can be matched by any other mod out there.

I'm looking for something with great durability, and a battery that can last a long darn time! There are times when I'm working for 2-3 days at a time and don't get to charge my vaporizer...

REO: If you want to try a bottom feeder, a metal REO is indestructible, charge a bunch of batts up ahead of time, swap out as needed. Made from a big hunk of aluminum block, then powder coated or annodized. Mechanical mod, no VV, but it it gets wet everything still works if you drop in a puddle. You can give 'em a bath in the sink once a week (take out batts and coils, etc. ) Reo Grande takes a 18650, should last you all day on one batt. Stick an atomizer or mini shorty carto in there, put juice in the bottle and you're all set.

Provape-1: These are such nicely "weighted" and the way they fit in your hand is just divine. 3.7 device, no VV......but there IS some circuitry involved, so not rain-friendly. Very safe, very nice length and size, but 14500 batts you will need to change out 2-3 times a day depending on how much you vape. However, those batts are same size as AA's......so niice and small, lightweight and pocketable, and get yourself a few battery cases to put them in and you're good to go. Couple nice little tanks fit on there nice, or a clearomizer.

(same situation with the smaller REO "mini" ..... 14500 batts)

Provari IF you get one they are thicker and heavy...so get a flexi wrap from serenity gear ... it has a hook to attach to your belt, and these are thick durable leather wraps/loops. Again, circuitry, so not entirely rain-friendly.

you said oil patch, so I am thinking of conditions at pipelines and/or offshore rigs......I know the environments......(brothers all worked in conditions).

If you're moving around a lot, IMHO a Provari could prove cumbersome. I know a lot of loggers and they said they couldn't deal with it.....but everyone is different.......I don't suggest a provari for you at all.

The chemicals aren't going to be friendly to anything electronic and can also do unpleasant things to plating, particularly the cheap stuff from China. I found this stainless steel telescoping mechanical, The Rapture Mod. If you keep the contacts clean it should hold up fairly well to your working environment.

If your feeling lucky and want variable watts you might want to add an Evolv Kick. At least if the electronics die you won't be out your mod.

Serenity Gear makes custom leather mod holsters that you can get with a belt loop. You might find that will keep your PV safer than keeping it in your pocket. Some people have used battery holsters for "C" batteries for their mods. I could be mistaken but I seem to recall they may need a little extra padding.
