The Truth About Why Anti Smoking Groups Hate The E Cigarette

Most top harm reduction experts and doctors agree that the electronic cigarette could squash the ill effects that tobacco causes smokers. Some of these experts have made public statements that claim that most respiratory illnesses would go away in just a few short years if all smokers would switch to the e cigarette. The benefits to the already strained health care system would be great since the experts expect so much suffering from smokers to slow to almost nothing or even stop overall, opening tax revenues and health professionals time up for better use of resources.
Although electronic cigarette companies do not advertise their electronic cigarette kits as healthy or safe, there are many doctors that are stating that they are healthier than tobacco, and they are on a campaign to expose the actions of the anti smoking groups that are openly misleading the public concerning the electronic cigarette. Although these groups lack use of common sense according to health care professionals, they are still trying to make false claims that children are drawn to them because of flavors offered by the e cigarette companies, while the companies that fund the anti smoking groups remain selling flavored nicotine lozenges. Yet there is no outcry about these or flavored condoms, or even fruit flavored wine that is illegal for minors to purchase.
The same anti-smoking groups that are casting stones at the e cigarette for having flavors are 100% in support of fruit flavored nicotine replacement products that are offered by the same pharmaceutical companies that fund them. They continue to support a full ban on the e cigarette, even though the e cigarette has almost 4,000 less chemicals than tobacco, and offers no combusted tobacco into the lungs. These 4,000 chemical along with the combusted nature of the tobacco being inhaled deep into the lungs contribute to almost 400,000 deaths in the U.S. alone each year according to health professionals. Looking at where the opposition is funded from, and the stance they are taking, is it any wonder that they are being scrutinized more by the public and health industry than the e cigarette?
E liquid, the solution that is causing the lions share of the uproar because of the flavors offered and claims that they do not know what is in them. Again, special interest are misleading the public and lawmakers according to the public health professionals. The claims made by the anti-smoking groups are unwarranted because there have been several high level studies by government accredited labs and personnel that find that the e cigarette is 100 to 1,000 times safer than traditional tobacco cigarettes and cigars. More proof that the experts are correct in stating that they are a safer option to smoking cigarettes
When the facts are looked at, there is no reason to doubt the health care professionals take on the e cigarette, and that there needs to be a closer look at the reasons the pharmaceutical company funded special interest groups are pushing the agenda they openly choose to push.

I did my part and sent hard copies of the petition but I wonder if taking those people head on is the best approach. I think we would get more traction spreading awareness among the general public, and especially doctors and the military.

Educate smokers and non-smokers alike. Replace cigarettes and build up the credibility and demand as quickly as possible. If we got enough traction before a ban, there would be very little political support for forcing people back to filthy cigs.

That has been running through my mind lately, as well.

I've been thinking about creating an educational flyer that people can print out and take to their doctors or drop off at the local hospitals and cardiologist/pulmonologist offices!

Work in progress...

Educational flyers would be a big step, especially if people volunteered all over to get them out there in the public eye.

Plus, there are A LOT of people who go to the doctor besides non-smokers who would end up picking one up. I wouldn't be surprised if flyers caught the eye of news reporters who are looking for a good story, and since it's pro PV, they won't get a negative bias right off.

Maybe people could even see if they would be able to drop them off at rest stations off the highway. I know here in New England their would be loads taken since tourist season is coming up and for some strange reason tourists like to grab one of every flyer they see at rest stations.

You work so hard, thank you kristin.:)

Now if you could just get some coffee made, it would be great.:p
