Hi, my names Derrick, and I am new to the e-cig forums(obviously, right? :p).
So I have been smoking analog cigs for a little over a year now. About 3 months ago in rehab, a friend there had an e-cig, I was so confused on what the hell he was doing with that thing. He told me all about it and I found it really interesting. So I decided about 2 weeks ago that I would try out one of these e-cigs. Did a little research online, and found the cheapest one but good in the reviews, was the Blu cig...so I ordered a starter kit. Before my order arrived, I was reading more on the Blu company and I wasn't so excited after all, but not to disappointed because I figured I would try it out, and if it did not work for me, I could always return it, and try out the Revolver company, which is the same price, but much better reviews.

Okay, so onto my problem with the Blu cig. I am just not experiencing any sort of buzz or relaxation I get from analogs. And because of this...I bought more, even though I said farewell to my last pack the day my order arrived. The e-cig my friend had in rehab was called electro nik stix, and it was the highest nicotine they had he said, which was 26mg (I think, if I remembered right, maybe 24mg). The highest nicotine cartomizers Blu has are 16mg. So my question is, do you think that 10mg difference is really why I am not feeling a buzz?(And when I tried his out, I got a nice buzz, like that of an analog, after just 2 puffs) Also, he had the kind where he dripped the flavored liquid from a bottle, into empty cartridges, where as mine is pre-soaked cartomizers.

Any suggestions/comments would be great!
Thanks,
Derrick

Hi Subfighter. Welcome. You may not get the same feeling from e-cigs that you gt from combustible cigs, since there's no carbon monoxide and e-cigs don't have the 4000 other chemicals. If you want the same feeling you got when you tried your friend's e-cig, you should be able to get it with the 510 and 24 mg liquid.

Hey SubFighter, welcome to ECF!

The 510 is a good kit, but the battery life isn't a huge improvement over your Blu. It's got better battery life than the Blu, but not more than a couple hours for most people.

The eGo which has been recommended to you has great battery life, for a small compromise in size. It's not any longer than the 510, just a bit wider.

Also, e-juice has a more gradual absorbtion than nicotine from cigs. You might not feel quite the buzz you did from cigs. You may be able to remedy that by going with higher nic strengths, but just getting a 510 or eGo might give you that buzz, too. I've known people who started with one of the less powerful e-cigs like the Blu, and had to reduce their nicotine when they got a 510 of eGo.

Try 24mg liquid, and 18mg liquid just in case. Happy vaping!

Im a noobie my self but what i found out that there is planty battaries comparable with 510 gear. For example T-rex uses 510 automizers and cartomizers also taste and vapor production of the wall just like with eGo and Tornado. Also try different strengths of nic. Other things Like Pg or Vg based liquids may affect the feelings i found that vg base liquid make me all warm and relaxed but pg gives me a good buzz.
Good luck with your vaping hopefully you will enjoy your expirience.

Dude get a mod, period. Mods offer the best experience available. There are a ton of them out there. It's better to start with a beast and work your way down (if you should actually feel you want to) I had a Blu so I can say this, Blu sucks! I'm not saying they are the worst out there, but they gotta be close to it. I'm sure someone will get on here and try to defend Blu (it happens), but I am a person who believes performance is not subjective. Enough ranting. Look at it this way. If you want something that is made to work well, it probably won't look anything close to an actual cig. I also own a manual 510 by Janty. Worlds better than a Blu, but if your anything like me, and your life can't revolve around charging a battery, you gotta get something bigger.

And which mods do you use? Or which ones would you recommend? Only one I have found is Mako's or something like that

Hi, Sub! JMHO, but I wouldn't recommend a mod to someone so new. You can always get into mods later when you've become more comfortable and have more experience with vaping in general. There's a learning curve to vaping and I just feel it's best to start at the beginning and work your way up. Get an eGo, as was recommended before, find out which nic level is going to work best for you and some flavors that you like. Once you get comfortable with that, then jump into mods if you're still interested.

Thanks Woman, I think that's what I'll end up doing then. Ordering an eGo, but hmm now the question is, from which site?

Liberty-Flights.com is also in CA, San Diego I believe. They have a 20% off link in upper left of their site, and often throw some eGo kits into a special bin for $39.99 - otherwise, with the 20% off they are 51.96 or so, includes 2 full eGos (2 batts, 2 attys, usb charger, wall plug, etc - see site).

I've purchased 2 kits from them (so far), and am waiting for their black Friday special -all eGo kits for $40 (all color choices).

That's if you can hold out that long. LoL I've paid the larger price for first kit, 2nd for $39.99... 3rd kit is going to be a red one (so hands off it! LoL)

I also would like to throw out there the suggestion to get Cartomizers as a nice addition. When I upgraded from my 510 to the Ego, I purchased some soft-tip cartomizers. Wow, I may never go back to standard cartridges and atomizers. Well, maybe if I'm trying a new flavor, but for times like when I'm at work, I'll stick with the Carto. With a full Carto and an Ego fully charged, I can get through 9 hours of work. And I'm vaping like a fiend right now since I'm only 3 weeks out from not smoking.

I find some juices leave me feeling wanting and some are totally satisfying. For me it's a mix of the TH and the aroma and vapor and getting nice hits of it. The amount of visible vapor is increased by VG. The TH depends on a variety of things - the amount of PG, the nicotine level, and the flavor. For example, with the same PG/VG balance (70/30), and the same nicotine, and same vendor, Peach was smooth a flavorful w/ almost no TH and did not satisfy me while a specialty tobacco flavor had nice TH and did satisfy me. I imagine something like Menthol or Cinnamon would have even more TH. You need to a PV that fits your ex-smoking style and vaping style and life, that will also give you nice fairly consistent hits of the size you want. And then find some juices that do the trick for you on your chosen PV.

I know my smoking style was slow and relaxed on light analogs (1.5 to 2 PAD), and I can screw with little carts at home and at work. So I didn't need a big PV. My boss on the other hand would need something huge because he smokes fast and hard on full-strength analogs.
