Hi Vets,

A friend spilled a cup of coffee and drowned my Ego. I dried it off, separated the batt and atty, then did nothing else. (I did not fire it up.) Do I just wait til it dries out, and if so, for how long? I'm not concerned about the atty (it's a carto), but am concerned about the battery. Thankfully I have another device, but I need at least two at all times. It's paranoia, perhaps, but knowing that I have 2 working PVs is the saving grace that will keep me from the potential purchase of a pack of cigs.

Any suggestions for a drowned battery? (Mouth to threaded end resuscitation?) (a small late nite attempt at humour)

Thanks!

Kat~

Hi Katdarling,

It may be a solid possibility if the coffee slipped into the battery thru the button hole that the liquid may have caused a short in the internal circuitry. Unfortunately with sealed batteries to my knowledge there's no easy way of opening them up to clean and dry them out (if another vet can help me on this one...LOL). I would air on the side of caution and replace the affected components. :)
