I just ordered some e liquid from e-cig.com. I ordered the xxx strength (48mg). It seems like its all flavor and VG. No nicotine at all! Has anyone else experienced this????

I'm interested to see other's response to this. I can't tell a big difference between high and low nic levels either. I'm guessing my habit is more related to the 'ritual' than a nicotine addiction.

That's entirely possible.

If you peruse the forum, you'll find that different people have wildly different sensitivities to nicotine. Some--after vaping 18mg liquid--have been down for the count with a vicious nicotine buzz. I, on the other hand, have tried everything from 32mg to zero and haven't felt a difference.

Now, I smoked the better part of 2 packs-a-day for decades--and yet, when for whatever reason I couldn't light up for hours at a time, I never experienced a so-called nicotine fit. Sure, I wanted a cigarette--I knew how good it was going to be after a lengthy deprivation--but it wasn't a physical ache.

That's purely anecdotal, of course, but the inference you could draw is that you and I smoked out of the hand-to-mouth ritual, as you describe--and for no other reason. If so, we're blessed.

As others have said, nicotine really won't add any flavor except for maybe somewhat of a peppery taste. If you're talking about less of a head rush than with analogs the body absorbs somewhat less nicotine from vaping at a slower rate so you're not going to experience that as much plus analogs have 1000s of other chemicals you're not getting with vaping that contribute to that initial head rush feeling. That being said I personally think 48mg is way to high and if you're looking for more of a TH kind of thing I'd go down a step on the nic level and get a higher percentage of PG in your liquid.

From the info I've gathered over the internet. That head rush is feeling from an analog is the freebase nicotine that the modern day cigarette has been engineered to provide. And thats what makes it more addictive than cigarettes made 50 years ago. Freebase nicotine is to ordinary nicotine as freebase crack ....... is to normal coke ....... ........ It goes to your brain far faster and also contains other chemicals called MAOI's that basically make the "nicotine buzz" last longer. Modern cigarettes are a wondrous piece of addiction technology. What increases the level of freebase nicotine in an analog is how high the acidity of the smoke is, and that's why they use things like ammonia, urea, etc... to increase an analog's freebase nicotine levels. Some doctor on this forum tested the acidity of ecig vapor and it came up as more alkali. So the ecig vapor is not going to contain nearly as much freebase nicotine as a modern cigarette. It suspect it to be closer to what other NRT's would be as far as the type of nicotine we get. So we get a slower nicotine buzz instead.

I've only been doing this for a week now but I feel like I'm going through the same slight withdrawal symptoms from the freebase nicotine that I got when I tried things like the patch, gum, etc... Nowhere near the torture of going through cold turkey, but still pretty annoying. I suspect (though I'm not a doctor) is that you're feeling the effects of freebase nicotine withdrawal. The same ones you'd get if you switched to the patch, gum, etc... I have yet to try higher strength nicotine juices so I've ordered some to see if there are any big differences in the nicotine "buzz" (right now I'm using 12mg and 24mg). I really doubt if ecigs will ever really give you that same "nicotine buzz" as an analog because it probably has less freebase nicotine (though I haven't come across any info yet on how much - if any - freebase nicotine is in an ecig). I think that it just goes with the territory of vaping. It isn't an analog, but it's still the closest thing to getting the analog experience you can get in this day and age.

E-Cigs are just totally different than regular cigs....I sometimes feel like I am "wanting" something like I am not getting enough nicotine too. I just wonder what other addictive chemicals I could be missing now and it's not the nicotine at all. I say that as I have high energy and feel a little jittery at 18-24mg e cigs (did not feel this way with regular cigs) so I think I am getting more than enough nicotine.

Or you can supplement with snus. Snus will provide all the other stuff thats in tobacco cigarettes that we don't get with our PV's (all the MAOI's and other drugs that we didn't know we were taking) and it's are safe too (and you don't have to spit - yuck).

So vape like crazy (please, not with 48mg-maybe 24 or 36) and when you really need something extra pop in a snus.

Here's a thought... It could be that whoever makes their juice doesn't understand that when you add other ingredients to the nicotine base, it cuts down on the level of the nicotine mg. They may have started out with a 48mg nicotine base but after adding the VG and flavor, the mg will be cut down. Depending on the ratio between the base, VG and flavoring they used, that will determine the level of nicotine in the finished product.

True, but not everyone understands formulas and how mixing things changes it's composition. We all know this field isn't regulated so it's very easy for people to make claims that aren't true at all. They could very well claim it's a 48mg juice because that's what they started out with.

Never tried their juice, but that's because my first ecig was from e-cig.com. A KR808 E9 (?) kit. What I can say is that the 40 carto flavor sampler that came with it was VERY VERY VERY inconsistent. Some had decent flavor with what seemed like no nic, some with hardly anything at all, some kicked like a mule with nothing but an ashy flavor. Just can't say I was thrilled with the vendor at all...even though shipping from China took like 4 days to Cali.

But hey, the kit was cheap and it got me started (and quit, if you know what I mean)

I normally get my liquid through Totally Wicked. I just tried the "e-cig" e-liquid because it was alot cheaper. I guess totally wicked has better juice?

TW does have great liquids...I have only personally tried two of them from the Decadent Vapours line in 36mg, but they give a very strong throat hit and seem to provide more of the nicotine light-headed feeling than other liquids I vape at 36mg. Many of their liquids are on sale now, so OP, you might want to check them out. Good stuff.

48mg is very high! Some vendors only sell it so you can cut it down. I was 2.5 pad and all I could handle is 18mg. I know we all different but I haven't seen any posts beyond 36mg that people smoke. Just be careful.

Kpax, i had the same feelings you describe. I went kind of manic and agitated. There is definitely a lot of other stuff in cigarettes besides nicotine. For me that lasted about 3 weeks and then I crashed. I'm fine now. When it was going on I tried to smoke a cigarette thinking that would fix it but I couldn't stomach it. It will stop and you will feel normal again. Just try and get a lot done while you have all that new found energy.
