edit- I didn't realize the thread was 4 pages long, just responded after watching the vids. Ahh well, it's written now.
Hi Bob,
The history part was fun.

And the alkaloid comments interesting, will have to go dig up that thread..
Some comments for those that may not know this if this is their first e-cig, and a couple for you, although you probably know it.

You commented about the need to replace the Ego/Tornado batteries - that's sort of a straw man - you need to do that on your penstyle as well as most e-cigs except for mods/battery tubes or boxes (with the Janty stick being in the latter category, obviously). On the few units (not your penstyle

) that allow for battery replacement with a commonly available battery, like the Janty Stick, Prodigy, Screwdriver, GG, etc - the batteries are cheaper than the Ego, but still have to be replaced with time. Even the custom batteries like on your 801, the 401, 510, etc - the batteries run around $10 +/- a bit. The Ego batteries cost roughly double. I don't think we can say which will last longer, but I have many 510 and other batteries still going strong. I would
prefer the Ego had user replaceable common batteries, but it's not a deal-breaker for me.
I think the real source of your dissatisfaction with the Ego is simple - you like to chew on your e-cigs or hold them in your teeth, no? I'm assuming that's why the preference for the whistle tips, as well as your 'safety issue' with the 510 cart coming apart on you. (For anyone reading, the Ego uses the same atomizer and cart as the 510/Titan/Dura/Yeti etc). If you chew or put a lot of pressure on the 510 (or Ego/Tornado, etc) carts, yes, they can come apart, depending on how much pressure. I don't believe I have ever had one come apart on me with owning 510s for over 6 months.
You could always get a 'cart condom' from a KR808D-1 cartridge, pop a hole in it, then slide that over the mouthpiece of the 510 - that gives you a soft tip that you can bite into to your hearts content. Of course, in a society where people try to
sue[/b[ each other over coffee being 'too hot' (surprise?), or where they have to label desiccant packages with 'do not eat,' perhaps someone will prove the ultimate stupidity and sue over another common sense issue such as this?
Sorry, it's just exaggerated IMO. You can also simply remove the end cap from the 510 entirely, although you *may* get a little bit of juice in your mouth now and then, depending on how hard you draw and how much you fill the carts.
You can also easily stretch a soft-tip penstyle mouthpiece over the end of a 510 or Ego/Tornado (Totally Wicked sells the Ego as a Tornado), thus "saving you" from "certain choking death," (
), as well as giving you a penstyle mouthpiece. A 901 or J-118 whistle tip will also directly fit inside the end of a 510 mouthpiece, if you remove the end piece first.
Love the cigar case idea, btw. I'm a little tongue in cheek on my comments, just want to make sure people realize some of the "rest of the story" and have a little more information before thinking they might instantly choke by trying an e-cig, or that the batteries on penstyles and others are easily user replaced, etc.
