E CIG GEL medium HELP!!!!!!

I went out yesterday and bought my first e cig from a local retailer, after i charged it and tryed it for the first time it tasted rather nasty. found out it is factory residues on the unit and the taste will disapate as it has. So I did some research and found out all about the refill liquids, flavors and wadding materials used. BUT my e cig seems to use a clear gel in the cartridge as opposed to other models using the wadding and e liquid. My question is this, because i cant find gel refills, only replacement cartridges, would I be able to change the cartridge from this gel to the wadding and liquid refill without much effort? I know I have to order some juice and wadding but I dont see there being a reason i cannot switch it. I have looked and compared all the parts including the atomizer, these parts are very similar to the ones that are used in the liquid. I am a lil dissapointed because had I have known this gel was an issue along with the fact it is a NOVA SMOKE brand which i have never heard of, i would have waited. I just want to make sure my vappin goes smooth and that I dont blow it up in my face.

i fixed the problem, it was some stupid gel/poly fill medium they were using. either that or the liquid was almost as thick as molasses.

changed it out cleaned it, added the pyramid tea bag mod and some new juice, PROBLEM SOLVED!!!!
