My experience was:

On Friday September 25, I was chain smoking on my after work commute, as normal. Found my Blu starter kit in the mail when I got home. I fired it up and thoroughly enjoyed it through until Sunday.

From previous experiences when I tried to quit, I found that going for a couple days without smoking made my analogs taste like crap for a while when I went back to them. I never had any desire for an analog while using my PV, but on Sunday afternoon, out of curiosity, I fired up an analog to see how it was. I took two drags on it, the second worse than the first and tossed it. After using my tasty PV, the analogs tasted even worse than when I had tried to quit before.

That first week, I never had any cravings or anything, but every so often the thought "Oh, crap, I'm out of cigs and need to stop at the gas station on the way to work" kept crossing my mind. After about a week or two, that feeling subsided and since then I've not smoked an analog and haven't even thought about doing so or needing to pick up any. Concerns about running out of atomizers or liquid, or killing batteries however have increased. :)

I have quit many times in my 26 year smoking habit. This is the first time I don't feel likeI've lost my best friend.

I am currently smoking the levelcigs, menthol ultralight nicotine. So far so good, I ordered both the Levelcigs 510 (which arrived in 3 business days) and I also ordered the Eluma (ultralight as well) which should arrive this week. I actually ordered the Eluma a day before the Levelcigs... When my Levelcigs arrived, I had purchased 2 packs that morning. I still have 18 in one pack and and unopened pack of cigarettes that I think I need to give away at this point.

I was previously nearly 1 pack per day Marlboro, Menthol, Ultralight, 100's smoker. Boy was that a mouthful at the checkout counter.

So many on here do the "exotic" dripping and mods and flavored liquids, etc... I just want something simple that satisfies my nicotine urge and hand to mouth habit. Huge clouds of vapor are not important to me...in fact I like to stay more incognito. I did this to quit so I don't want to try fun flavors to make it more enjoyable.

I actually feel good about not smoking "analogs." Previous quits I always missed them right away and knew I was in trouble.

I got my first e-cig mid August and quit analogs completely on September 12th, so it took me almost a month to completely transition.

My fiancee smoked about 2.5X more than I did, and she couldn't quite do it, she dropped her analogs to under a pack a day from over 2 packs a day with e-cigs. However, in the last four days, she has completely dropped analogs after smoking for 20 years (except when she was pregnant). So 3 months of vaping plus reduced analogs for her has now transitioned to her being analog free.

I think the reason that I've been able to quit completely is because I did quite a bit of research on which PV to buy before throwing down my money. I almost bought the blucig but felt like it would be less than satisfying for me. I smoked about a pack a day and I think that if you smoke that much or more then you might have more success buying a product that feels as much like smoking as possible. That is why I bought the 510. I want the throat hit, the vapor and the sensation of smoke rushing into my lungs. I think that is the key for moderate to heavy smokers. I have a friend that bought a Smoking Everywhere e-cig and she hasn't been able to quit. As a matter of fact she gave up on using it. I took a few drags off of it and I can understand why. Little vapor and no throat hit. It seemed like the battery had a two or three second cutoff. I won't go as far as to say it's an inferior product but I don't see how anyone who smokes a pack a day or more could use SE successfully although I'm sure it happens occasionally.

Is it just me or do the brands with the slicker marketing have a crappier product?

Anyway, I think the key to having a greater chance of success quiting is doing research on the type of ecig that will meet your needs.

Interesting! The percentage of quitters is growing. When I took a snapshot at 1003 participants, the quitters made up 80.5%.

Truly a unbelivabel product as I did not even know if I wanted to quit. I mean I have tried before but really dident want to. People that I know that have quit say you really have to want to and I dident at first. But then I got a 510 what a diffrence It was hard in the begining but the fact I had something to take the edge away that felt like a analog made all the difrence in the world.. Now I am a happy non smoker.. I am only 29 and was a 1.5-2 pack a day smoker and never thought I could quit.. Thank God for the ecig...

Hi to everybody, this is my first post.

This is somewhat embarrassing, but I have smoked 3-4.5 packs of cigarettes a day for about 25 years. I received my Nebula kit from Vapor 9 Saturday afternoon 11/10/2009 (great customer service, by the way) and I already ordered another one. I immediately loved my Nebula and knew that I would be able to quit smoking real cigarettes soon. This is only my 5th full day with my Nebula but my analog consumption has been as follows: 13 on Sunday, 11 on Monday, 10 on Tuesday, and 9 on Wednesday. As of now, I am not trying to quit, I am just having a cigarette when I really want one. So you can see my consumption has been decreasing over the last 4 days without even trying. I know now that I will be able to give up cigarettes for good within a week or so; however, the morning one may be the most difficult one to give up.

As of now, I get minor cravings for a real cigarette. I believe my craving are for the other compounds contained in cigarette smoke. When I have a cigarette it is not all that satisfying which surprises me greatly. I just cannot believe that I am going to be able to quit relatively easy. Only once in my smoking life have I made it more than 24 hours without a cigarette and I was using the patch and it was very difficult.

I have to admit that I am chain vaping 36 mg / ml juice, but I chained smoke cigarettes also.

Even with still having a few cigarettes a day, my sense of smell has returned with a vengeance. I call it my “bionic nose”. My sense of taste is getting a bit stronger and my lungs already feel better.

The e-cigarette is a miracle; however, I have had a few minor side effects. I am a geochemist so I researched this product and all the effects extensively, so I knew what to expect.

The first day and a half I had minor throat irritation (chain vaping the 36 mg pg) and a bit of heartburn which is extremely uncommon for me. All in all, I am just amazed how my cigarette consumption is decreasing with absolutely no effort at all.

I am positive I will be a non-analog-smoker within the next week.

I will keep you updated and I want to thank everyone for all the
information posted on this forum.
