amazing survey, whoever wrote that did their homework.

be cautious of this question though...

During the past week, How many TIMES per DAY do you usually use your electronic cigarette? (assume one "TIME" consists of around 15 puffs, or lasts around 10 minutes)

its kind of weird the way they ask it. I can only guess they are trying to compare ecig usage to the time it takes to smoke a analog. and use that to say your e cig got vaped x times which = x number of analogs.

also they ask alot of questions multiple times. and some of them you should take your time and read carefully. Not because they are trick questions but they clearly want very specific information out of many of them, so lets do our best to give it to them.

Bookmarked for when I'm at work in PA. Seems to know that my IP address isn't in PA and gives me a page saying "sorry, you're not a participant in this study"

Bluerock,
I think you must be talking about a different survey. Our survey is for vapers everywhere and I dont believe anyone should get a message like the one you received, from our survey.

Filling it, but what's with this question - ???
How anything like this is relevant to ecigs? Education, race... sorry, what!?

It's basic demographics information for statistical analyses. Participate in ALMOST any research and you can expect these types of questions.

Though they should have had an option to decline answering, IMO.

that is so they can sort the results based on how many people of each race use ecigs. just more info for them to compile.

Not just by race and by ethnicity (which are different btw) but also geographic region, education status etc, to determine stratification factors across subgroups, I.e. who is more or less likely to use e cigs.

Very well thought out survey, I only had a few suggestions for the PI as to other questions that might be asked!

I've got to say that I was impressed with the survey and the detail of the questions. And although I'm a PA resident, it looks like it's open to everybody since the residence portion of the questionnaire had a dropdown box with all of the states listed.

I was happy to participate...and thanks for the link.

This survey is pretty good, but still has major flaws that make it hard to answer the questions properly...

--No accounting for the fact that many of us use different e-cigs for different purposes
--No accounting for the fact that parts can often be interchangeable
--No accounting for stealth vaping

In the comments I stressed that smokers smoke for different reasons, and until they understand that, they will never understand.
It's not all about the nicotine. For many people there is so much more to smoking than just the nicotine.

It would be nearly impossible to do a comprehensive and accurate survey though.
The variables are far too great to ever be able to do so.

So yeah, this isn't too bad, as far as that goes.
:)

Demographic and race questions have nothing to do with "ecig vs tobacco"
The right question are age, how long have you been smoking, what strength and amount of cigs per day.
This is very odd survey. Why I mentioned hispanic in quotes? Because you have a dropdown later on with selecting your race...
Title of Project: Examining the psychological and biological effects associated with the use of electronic cigarette devices

I didn't complete survey, but sure hope they are asking me if I was smoking, for how long and how much somewhere on those pages. And all the rest of questions that relate to how I feel after starting to vape.

I just took the survey. It annoyed me that whoever wrote it seemed to imply that ecig users were still smoking/using tobacco. They also seemed to think that most users use one as they did a cigarette. ie: use it for 5 to 10 minutes at a time for x number of puffs and put it away. Other than that the survey author(s) seemed more informed than other researchers I've had experience with.
