A few comments on the comments:
1. The demographic questions (gender, age, race etc) are a necessary part of any decent survey so that the sample can be described/characterized and so that any differences in ecig use/perceptions by these characteristics can be identified.
2. The question about being Hispanic is separate from the race question because it refers to ethnicity, not race (i.e. you can be white Hispanic, black Hispanic etc). All US surveys ask these questions separately.
3. There ARE some open-ended questions inviting vapers to provide any other information/opinion they think is important to understanding vaping that was not asked about elsewhere.
4. Im still seeking a good question that would be applicable to all, and would provide a good measure of consumption that is somewhat comparable to cigarettes per day, sachets of smokeless per day etc. If we asked "How many ml of liquid do you vape per day?" would noobies using ecigs with pre-filled cartridges know the answer? Anyone ay idea how many puffs they get per ml? or how much variability there is in that?

Why don't you have an x-smoker help you with the survey questions? Its kinda like back in the 50s and 60s when house cleaning products were developed by men only who, back then, never did household chores. Thankfully, companies have gotten smart including the actual users in development. If you want accurate information then ask pertinent questions. We all know how political polls can be spun with the questions.

FYI we had some very experienced ecig users and ex-smokers comment on drafts of the questions before the survey went "live". In a questionnaire with over 100 questions you are never going to get it "perfect", or at least not perfect for every single person who reads it....thats just the way it is. But Im glad many people have commented that this is a good survey overall, and hope that will encourage more to participate.

Nice survey Jardine. The only thing I saw was that it assumed you use one method of vaping currently and many of us use different delivery mechanisms on a daily basis. I, for example, use three types daily, all different, and none look remotely like a cigarette.

Hope you post the stats and conclusions if allowed. Oh and hope this isn't funded by BP or BT.

A direct comparison is difficult. I started out trying to mimic cig smoking; going out once per hour and vaping 10 Vapes or so. Ended up finding out it is far more effective and enjoyable to have a device "in hand" and have a vape at no specified interval, just "whenever".

I have no clue how many puffs per ml but there is a mod out there that has a puff counter.

We can send him the charts from evic users? :)

I filled it out. I felt like I usually do- guided in a certain direction, and not being able to be specific when necessary.

This is why you can find evidence to support ANYTHING, pro or con, in the great world of science. Science blows.

Oh, and I vape for medical reasons.

Good enough survey but some important questions are definitely missed. For instance, for how many years did you smoke before quiting using e-cigs? There is a difference between a person who "smoked" for one month and the one who smoked for 40 years. Also some questions reminded me the old joke: "Have you already quit drinking vodka for breakfast? Answer only Yes or No, please". Please, try to answer this question by yourself. :)

But I still think there is some danger which can be from surveys like this. They could make a conclusion "Switching to e-cigarettes often INCREASES nicotine consumption". And this conclusion could be absolutely correct in many cases. But think how it can be used to ban e-cigs because got out of context it says "e-cigs are more harmful than cigarettes", which is not true.
