So I was thinking about starting an informational wiki site for E-Cigs. Something that would be sort of a collection of all the information scattered over the various forums (namely this one) and internet sites. I was curious if there was already something like this before I go taking on such a project.

My thoughts on the site were to make sections listing the legal issues, health information for different ingredients, DIY e-liquid instructions (along with refrences to different suppliers for the various ingredients), and peoples takes on different brands/mixes of the various flavors.

I was also hoping to compile a list (perhaps in more a spreadsheet format) of the various e-cigs available along with compatible versions sold by other companies and price comparisons (if that wouldn't stir up issues).

Does anyone know if such a site is in existance/being constructed and if not, would anyone be interested in helping populate the site?

I've already gotten a free wiki host site set up through wikidot.com in case I do end up going through with the project.

Site to be used:
e-cig: Welcome to your new Wikidot site

Anywho, I just thought it'd be something helpful, especially for new-comers to the whole e-cig scene. I know it's a resource I'd have liked to have known about :)

Yeah. I'm not sure what the tag is. It may be part of a syntax plugin. I did ask, but nobody replied. I thought it would be <code /> or [code /], but wasn't.

Edit: either way, the vandals use up the page history within a few weeks so you can't unvandalize it anyway.

I believe the tags you're looking for are <pre> </pre>.

Edit: A wiki needs people constantly monitoring it to prevent the spam vandals from changing things. It might help if SJ can give some people administrator rights to block IPs as well. There are probably also addons to mediawiki to help curb the spam.

Edit again: Here's a good description on how spam can be minimised on mediawiki installations:

So is that to say there is no way to make the mediawiki have an application process to be granted rights for adding content?

The problem with a wiki is there is so much info to e-cigs no one wants to do it I suppose. I can't say I'd blame them. Here in the Library section there tons of good guides info could be taken from. Look at the stickies. The ECF Library

All that info would have to be compiled, transferred and edited to reflect recent changes. That's a huge undertaking.
