YAY - Hi folks.

Positivity there - Deuxtrouble here (doubletrouble - mom's nickname for me and my sis. All of my mom's grey hairs are courtesy of us :) ) I did not read the other thread - but I did read this one and first of all - June bugs.....g-ross. Bad, bad memories of June bugs. Driving - dusk, windshield, I think you know.

I posted a bit about me in the new member section but anything you wanna know just ask. If I can't answer, I will make up something :)

I am 41, married to my best friend - who I met on an internet dating site, six months cigarette free, 3 children, 21, 18 and 9 yep, oops on that one but I have such a great relationship with her. I work in communications. I have 2 kittens and a rescue dog who has had a horrible life and am glad that I can give him a great remainder of his time here. I am a sucker for love stories and wear my heart on my sleeve. What you see is what you get - unless I am drunk and then I am WAY more fun.

I have a degree in Social Work - hence a pretty open mind. I use my social work skills every day but could never find my niche in the field. Mental health perhaps....

So that is sort of me...seriously, you have any questions please ask. I have already started on the road to some good friendships with some of you.

Melanie

Earwigs, ticks and centipedes!! YUCK!! We had a terrible batch of earwigs and ticks up here last year - they were EVERYWHERE!

Never really had to deal with ticks in Milwaukee. Up here folks just take it for granted that if you were walking around outside you need to check everyone for them and then they just tear them off and toss them in the fire or toilet - but common courtesy is that you don't toss them back into the grass to get someone else. SO, you have to hold on to them and carry them off. ICK! I'm having a hard time getting used to it, but I don't have a choice! lol

You'll get used to it and it will become just another annoyance. When we first moved to Maine we took our puppy for a walk and he ended up with about a dozen ticks on him. my husband is a super wuss and I had to remove them all. I thought I would die. Now 8 years later and three dogs, I just pluck them off, grab a lighter and fry the little .......s! I still hate them, but I don't freak out over it now.

Before you step your nicotine back up may I humbly suggest you try to NOT

Yes, you may. I'm not going to step back up. Don't think I have to. 30 years of smoking 20 every day required having a higher nic level to avoid withdrawal. I think one day after 2 months off shouldn't be so bad. Probably out of my system already. Especially if I eat.

Wow. I can't keep up with you guys. I had to take a business trip this week so I can only check the forums at night and I get to what was the last page of this thread and find I have another three or four pages to read through.

Still can't post on the QSMB, none of my posts have been approved. I wonder what's up with that?

Thanks. I used to make jokes that we were related because we both have those stupid Wonder Woman smiles. We are the 2011 Brady Bunch. He has 3 kids and so do I. I have 2 girls and a boy, he has 2 boys and a girl. We were both married and our kids are very close in age, which isn't always a blessing. They are 21 (mine-girl), 18 (his-girl), 18 (next month - mine - boy), 15 (his - boy), 9 (mine, girl), 8 (his, boy).

It's fun :) There are always issues with blended families but it works for us.

I think I'm starting to agree with our moderator over here. It may have been a bad idea. Take a look at the last post in that cold turkey thread. I know I specifically said that I wouldn't recommend anyone to try anything else BEFORE going cold turkey. Apparently, we are not equal smokers to them. They are smokers of a different breed.

Hey there, I'm really sorry. I tend to partially read longer posts and I hadn't read it completely. I didn't realize you physically didn't feel good. I sure hope you're feeling better soon. I really didn't mean to be a butthead.

But I sure am happy you didn't increase your nic level. And I thought that's what you were stressing over. I hope the stress in your life subsides. That will help also. But I didn't realize a person would have such nasty withdrawls. So I guess you really taught me something. Thanks.

Me either! I have been following this for some time now but never caught up all the way until now to get the chance to post and say hi!

I really have to commend you all on making such an effort to bring about positive change on QSMB that just might save a life!

Don't sweat it. I don't even bother reading pages that I miss when they're in excess of 10. Thing just move so fast around here when I go to work. But yeah, physical problems in my head today. I couldn't focus. I was warm, and my head was spinning a little. I messed up at work, and had no excuse for it.

So you feeling better now. See I thought I could do exactly what I said. Buy me a pack and just go back. Although I'm not sure I could finish a pack now LOL. And i didn't figure there would be any repercussions at all. But I haven't done it. So maybe I was wrong. I haven't been tempted but though I might have one or two just for fun. I guess that might be silly huh?
