I think I'm starting to agree with our moderator over here. It may have been a bad idea. Take a look at the last post in that cold turkey thread. I know I specifically said that I wouldn't recommend anyone to try anything else BEFORE going cold turkey. Apparently, we are not equal smokers to them. They are smokers of a different breed.
Not a bad idea...different but not bad. I wrote this huge response and accidentally hit backspace and it took me back to a different page - grrr.
Lots of people have relapsed and smoked. The thing to figure out is why? Whether you smoked or not, you still would have fought with your friends. That didn't change at all. Smoking didn't make that go away, nor did it stop the fight or a bad day. How we experience our individual quit is a matter of attitude. When you get up in the morning are you looking at it in a positive light? Are you secure in the fact that you are not going to smoke? I think so because you said you didn't really have cravings. So it isn't that.
So if you are like me - it is the habit you fall back on, that security blanket, the known! That was what was hard for me. Try brushing your teeth with opposite hand - uncomfortable but you can do it. (It is also quite funny to watch!!) That's the mind set anyone needs to get into when letting go of cigarettes, uncomfortable but you can do it. Not impossible and any walk down a new road starts with one step.
Geez I sound like a freaking fortune cookie.
If you can keep your nic down...do so. If you can't and you are in danger of smoking again - message me - or if you can't - well increase your nic - it's what we tell patch people to do. I have been with quitters that have had to use the patch and lozenges or gum. Just don't smoke!!!
