It's great, absolutely fantastic that some of you are over there trying and refusing to give up....this is hands down the most accepting forum I've ever seen online...I'm not sure I can come up with a term that is grandiose enough to describe the people here.

Good luck on finding one, I haven't yet.
+ some ridiculously huge number on virtually everything in your whole post, and Thank You so much for the nice compliment in the other one, and additional plussing for Magnus being a delightful word writer - which reminds me, now that the contest is over, MustangSallie, here are the haikus I promised, just for you!

Behind you
I'm vaping on my new Vision cartomizer from GotVapes today. Pretty cool... I think you'd like it Magnus, it makes my Ego look a bit like a sonic screwdriver

Good to hear it. I am going to give that Vortex 2.0 a shot in 510s next but for now I'm resting with old reliable Boge.

Orly, JohnPhoenix (who is still posting at ECF, just not this thread), ShannonA? Or did we hear from Shannon and I forgot? -Magnus

shc at QSMB is SC from SC here, right? Just read the post about Ulcerative Colitis, someone had posted previously that they were using e-cigs to combat it. Meems, maybe?

That's me. Thanks Randy, I had not seen that.
I just found a site about UC and one of the posts was about a lady using a nicotine patch to combat the condition. I asked her if she was concerned or had any problems with nicotine addiction. She said that she had been on the patch for four months and couldn't be happier (same with her doctor) with the results and no problems at all with addiction.

What I found to be most fascinating is that one of the potential problems with quitting cold turkey is developing UC. Odd..I didn’t have a UC problem when I quit smoking…maybe it’s because I continued to ingest nicotine.

I remember it because she'd gotten grief from you-know-who for her ongoing nicotine use.

You hope. I wouldn't rule out having a permanent ban just yet.

Yep, bans in there come like bolts from the blue, there's no warning issued (at least to me), and a ban can apparently be for something as trivial as posting in the wrong forum. Don't ever feel safe.

(Actually I fully expected to get banned for one or two of the posts I made, but never for the one that actually caused it.)

Cheers

Just been "over there" reading the "treaty" thread, as it has now become.

I'm convinced it a waste of time, even if if a treaty is achieved it'll never be adhered to, and Fred will do nothing to help uphold it.

It reminds me of Chamberlain waving around a piece of paper (the Munich Agreement) and claiming "peace in our time" while Hitler prepared to invade occupy the Sudetenland the very next day.

Still, keep negotiating if you want, but if I was still there I wouldn't bother.

Cheers

hobotivo, I'm in agreement with you.

I've been giving this a lot of thought, and I've decided to stop posting on the Q board. I'm not happy with the current circumstances. Truce or no truce, I don't agree with the way the board is run both by the owner/moderator and some of the more outspoken members. I don't agree with some of their terminology, phraseology or ideology especially the ones they feel are critical to their ability to give support. I realize it's just a small few, but it's the strongest few in terms of the power they have on that board. Power to silence the other members at least. This battle is taking up time that I should be spending working, and more importantly time I should be spending with my family and friends. I hope that the information that is there now is enough to prompt someone to google electronic cigarettes and maybe find the ECF or another board supportive of electronic cigarettes. I have the utmost respect for those that stay. But as for me, I'm out.

<Snip of stuff I agree with, simply for brevity.>

I hope those who do stay will at least scan the new posts daily (as Phonedude (I think) pointed out, that doesn't take long) and help any potential e-cig user who needs it and maybe pointing them here, even at the risk of getting banned. That's about all that needs to be done. More is just pointless, they're ignorant (they won't like that, but they are) and happy in their ignorance. I pity them.

Cheers

I'm convinced fred opened the board as a way to get friends, or some feeling of accomplishment and power over others. Hes emotionally attached to the people there, and not because of the "quits". He wouldve axed half of them already if not for the "I love you fred, and so respect you's". Its all I can think of to explain why he would sit back, allow his people to break every rule he set out, and just oust anyone at a whim. Its simple a power trip for him. And to those at Q watching, its not a knock at anyone, just calling it like I see it. Managing others is an important role, and not suited for everyone.
I wouldnt care to participate in the board even if I could. If fred got even a small impression of someone being adorned more than himself, he'd certainly ban them on site, because he's in it for the power, not the concern of others.
But, like Ive said before, MANY people are that way, not just him..Just a hint of power and they just go nuts with it. Both power and money tend to show ones true colors.
But for the treaty, I'll just keep those opinions at bay and allow the participants to do as they need. It doesnt effect me either way I guess, so regardless what I think, it wouldnt change anything, short of adding fuel, and we've been requested not to, so everyone can do their thing for now.

Personally, I feel there is no need for a "treaty" of any kind. Fred laid out the rules, clear and simple. Problem is, he doesn't enforce those rules. If users over there will not follow the moderators rules, why would anyone think they'll follow some made up treaty?

Exactly.....

Magnus,

When I got gas today I actually went into the convenience store. I purposefully chose a smaller regional chain (not 7-11). I asked the person behind the counter if they sold e-cigs. She had no clue what I was talking about, so I pulled out my T-Rex and showed her. She thought it was a cool idea (she wasn't a smoker), but since so little of their business is tobacco related didn't see a reason to carry them.
