I've been looking at the heated pet beds, one of our dogs is over 8 and I wonder if it wouldn't make him more comfortable this winter. I have a fear that my youngest will try and chew through the wires. He's the only one who is 100% healthy right now, the last thing I need is for him to kill himself with an electric shock.

I was worried about the electricity angle too, but I bought one that runs on 12V DC from a wall wallaby (as lolady once whimsically called them.) It is also designed in such a way that the bed will detach itself from the power supply if Cleo gets her claws stuck in the bed or anything like that and starts to panic. I think she'll be safe. I hope so anyway.

Cheers

Hmmm... I'll have to take a closer look. My luck, I'll buy it and he'll never use it. He'll probably wonder what on earth I was thinking insulting him like that, relegating him to a bed on the floor! After all, at night he sleeps in our bed and that's plenty comfortable and nice and warm once he jams himself up against me or my husband to share body heat. During the day, there's a perfectly good couch to sleep on! Maybe a heating blanket is a better option...

Well, I bought it on the recommendation of a mate, his puppy got sick (all better now) so he bought one for her and she loved it, so it does seem that animals like them. Yes, Cleo sleeps on our bed at night too, it's not even worth leaving her heated bed on, she much prefers sleeping with us. Heck, she's heavy and intrusive even though she's only a little cat and not at all overweight, I can't imagine what the weim's must be like! :)

Cheers

No you can't. No one can unless they've experienced it. Three dogs weighing in at a total of 170 pounds, who think it's perfectly reasonable to expect YOU to move and let THEM have the pillows and the covers. It's actually kind of pathetic how we've totally lost control over the sleeping arrangements. The only saving grace is it's one of the few times I get to tell my husband "I told you so" without him getting mad at me. Because I did... tell him so...

Yeah, everyone here is gentle and kind at heart. I just cant help but feel a sense of duty to stand up to these people, simply because we are NOT weak, and have the strength to stand our ground as the other groups before us did not. ( and they hang that garb in pride of how they shoved the last group out quickly, right beth? ) I kinda like forcing them to keep their wicked ideology inside the Q, and do what we can to keep them there, even if its just a good pounding anytime they are seen wandering about. We can only hope that once they recieve enough of their own medicine without protection, they will realize how they treat people, and maybe, just maaayybe change their ways. At LEAST lighten up. But good luck. Their addicted to the POWER...forget the nicodemon, they are power hungry folk there.
For name calling and all, Im not much for it either. BUT, I do see the tools they use to combat, and I dont approve, but I like nothing more than to use those tools better than they do, against them.
Personally, I think its a hopeless battle, so even if all I get is to finally speak my peace, Ill be happy. Walking away with my tail tucked just aint my style. Im gonna get a few shots in after I get sucker punched a dozen times. :p

Exactly!
I'm sick to death of being called names and I don't dare?
Feck That noize!
I'm name calling and it makes me happy cause I won't say a damned thing that I wouldn't say to whomever face to face
or I wouldn't say in real life.
It's how I operate and I won't apologize for that.
I also won't say I'm sorry if it offends anyone.
I'm not picking on you in particular Nate but I've had enough.
Am I better than that yes but I choose when to stoop nobody tells me when.
I never tried to change their minds only correct and provide relevant info.

Anyone attending the CASAA member meeting tonight? It starts at 6:30pm CST, but I'll be there around 7pm CST! (Just finishing up dinner!)
I was finally able to make the meeting tonight!

Sunday nights are really bad for me, being the night we always do family get-togethers.
No family get-together tonight, and the meeting was really interesting.

Hope I'll be able to make more of them.
