I can't believe I'm 44... it seemed like such a far way away when I came to the country. -Magnus

Well you don't look 44 you have one of those ageless faces you look mature but young at the same time. I know that makes no sense but its accurate nevertheless and I understand it.

She didn't ever care about my heart, it is the checkbook that rocks her world. And it's not me that's bothered by it, she spends NO time w/ our daughter. I don't mean like hours. I mean like 3/4m a day. MINUTES. And that's it. THAT rips my heart out and lights it on fire. -Magnus

That makes me sad. :(

At least she has you.

oh for shame...doesn't she know trhe damage she is doing...Little girls need their mothers just like they think their daddies are perfect till they reach 5 or 6 I feel for you my friend...I truly do...

My husband was just lamenting the other day about how it finally hit him that he was 30.

I used to get it all of the time - "OMG you look so young for your age!" People even guessed my husband as older! Don't get that as often anymore, so I guess I'm looking all my 43 years now. The worst part is that I'm FEELING it now, lol!! I dread the day someone asks if Kierney is my granddaughter.:glare:

I have my beloved vodka right here next to me. Straight. Oh yeah, thats right. STRAIGHT :toast:

Good lass. If you haven't already try Death's Door Vodka. Interesting sipping Vodka.

And Pincer Vodka, harder to come by, but it's just fantastic at the price-point.

I'm a Scotch Whisky man myself but Vodka and Rum keeps bottles in my cabinets. -Magnus

p.s. I just refereed to spirits as beings. That should bother me. Nope, doesn't.

I get a lot of people asking if my youngest sister is my daughter. There's a 22 year age gap. She was born long after I had moved out of the house. It took a lot of convincing that I was her brother and not a weird uncle or something.

+1

Plus...I'm so sorry to hear of your troubles with the wife. I know what you mean, though. We deal with the same thing with my stepdaughter's mother. We finally got custody and we have no intention of giving her back. (The mother calls all of the time when my DSD is visiting her and says she's begging to move back - but that only started after it hit her that the support payments were ending.

Thank you. But I'm still kicking COPYRIGHTDMCA. ;-)

That might fair me well as I get older but it's been the same since I was a teen. I was the college guy at the table everybody assumed was the Professor. The only thing that seems to change is the hairline and the salt in the beard.

I've got to shave twice a day now to stay clean, I'm going to give up the moment I'm done with my July/August work. By 1700 the next day I'll look like Magnus bin Gillette international terrorist of razors. -Magnus

Although, I'm glad she did, of course, or we wouldn't have her! lol! I guess she could be worse - I've heard some nightmare stories of exes. At least they weren't married! We talk to HER husband and he says when my DSD gets there her mom pretty much never leaves the house. For her 9th birthday she was there and was supposed to go to a special dinner and her stepfather ended up taking her out with his little boy and mom stayed home! (These two haven't even been together 2 years and they've already split up once - that's how we finally got custody again.)

My brother has a kid with an ex girlfriend and she is a nightmare. She called my brother - who tried to do the right thing and be involved - "nothing but a sperm donor" and refused to let him see his daughter. Then she did everything she could to turn my neice against him. My parents and I tried to keep contact (the ex was better with us) but my neice turned into a copy of her mother and pretty much disowned us. Now, THAT is a nightmare ex!

Ask yourself Nate, and think about this...

Do you really want a child raised in the Magnus Eunson School of Evil Genius? I'm not sure the world needs that. ;-)

I've been fortunate to have been fairly successful so I have the semi-retired schedule most of the year. However, what I'm having trouble with is letting her be a little girl. I've learned how to braid hair and do her nails and toes but she wants lip-balm and pretty dresses already.

Recently I've discovered all the stay at home mothers need temporary husbands to help during the day. I've been fixing generators, assembling desks, etc. and they bake brownies with their kids and Ceridwen. That's been a new upside as Ceridwen gets a touch older. -Magnus

You're not looking 43 from where I'm sitting, more like 33!

ETA: and I SWEAR I didn't read Shannon's post first
You both are very sweet to say so - but I just choose the best photos for my avatars, lol!

I have a husband who still thinks I'm hot and that's all that should matter! :D (Of course...I'm still a typical woman who doesn't want to look old no matter what, lol!) My husband teases that he's more worried that I'm going to trade him in for an even younger model. I told him I didn't want to get arrested! LOL 8-o

Two parents is better than one normally but think of it this way... One good parent is better than two bad ones. She'll do fine and maybe when she grows up and her sink leaks she'll be able to handle it herself rather than depend on someone else.
