I'm going to try again with a different user name (though if Fred is checking IP addresses it may go go through). Though I didn't pick it to ruffle any featthers (really... I'm a bonehead at times, but usually not an instigator or malicious), I can see where it definitely will and would detract from any positive message I might be trying to put forth.

Silly me. I love the name though, and I'll keep the email address too! :)

Joshua posted a new thread in the e-cig forum.

Electronic Cigarettes Questions and Answers

QuitSmokingMessageBoard.com • View topic - Electronic Cigarettes Questions and Answers

These pages have some "spin" and are not really favorable to e-cigs, they are not telling the whole truth. Some damage control may need to be done here folks.

I am not against telling the truth about any down side to e-cigs, that's only fair and right, but I think bias spin is another matter.

I believe Joshua means well, so don't anybody club the guy over the head with a Louisville slugger.

LOL MustangSally, I'm too slow. I actually sent a PM to Kristin before I posted this.

The Hookah store at my local Mall also sales Hookah-Doodles. They also have Hookah-Doodle-juice as well as a vast array of Hookah stuff (tobacco?). I bought some Hookah-Doodle juice there but that's another story. But nice to have them there in case of emergency.

I'm still enjoying my 0mg hookah-doodle-juice

The tobacco store I used to go to to pick up my RYO supplies also sells juice, but only tobacco flavors. It looked like a 10mL bottle for $10. I'm not in danger of running out of juice any time soon though. I have another 250mL bottle of 48mg juice that I should get on Monday, but I need to place another order for some straight PG and VG.

In all the years I smoked, I only tried hookah once. Talk about PITA. No one who does hookah, even on a semi-regular basis can complain that vaping is "too much work."

Where do you get your supplies? I'm beginning to run low on the supplies I bought for my first DIY attempt, and will need to restock in a day or so. I didn't want to buy a lot initially in case it didn't work out, but it's been a 100% success for me. I'm vaping my 3rd new tobacco flavor today, and it's as good as the other 2.

(your name is harder to type than mine, no fair!)

I just stepped down from 18! Wasn't hard at all but I am totally taking my time with it.
I think you are right about the jealousy issue. Thankfully, many of the posters over there have made a serious effort to open their hearts to encompass everybody who is going through this struggle...to those of us who didn't do it the "hard" way. A few, like Evelyn, seem to still have their blinders on. I wish I could just sit down with her face-to-face and pour my heart out to her. So many struggle for decades to quit and *anything* that helps should be celebrated. Those of us that have successfully used the e-cig are just bursting with excitement about the product because it really does seem like a miracle. Naturally we want to spread the good news everywhere we go! Like so many have said regarding their loved ones who have already passed or who are stuggling with illness "if only ecigs had been around back then..."

How much do you DIY guys think you're spending on juice? Let's say a 30mg bottle, if you can break your costs down to that.

I spent 7 dollars for a 60 mg bottle of 60 ml nicotine juice mixed with PG ( because thats how it's sold, the PG is the carrier for the nicotine, or it wouldn't vape) 3 dollars on a 16 oz bottle of PG and 5 on a 16 oz bottle of VG. I have used a third of the nicotine juice, and you can hardly tell the pg and vg bottles were touched. Perhaps 10 dollars on 5 small bottles of flavor concentrate to mix. So the nicotine is at least a 3 month supply at 7 dollars and the VG and PG will last me at least a 2 years based on this consumption, possible way longer. I only use a few drops of the flavorings at a time. In another 2 months, I may need to replace my 10 dollars worth of flavors. I don't mix 30 ml bottles. I mix one or two 3 ml bottles each morning. This is super cheap compared to smoking. 25 dollars for at least a 3 month supply with loads of VG and PG left over.

I too have bought pre-mixed bottles for 15 dollars per 30 ML, and as you can see, the DIY way will be a lot cheaper.

I did not include shipping. I bought my nicotine from void mist http://www.voidmist.com/products/PG-with-Nicotine-60-mg{47}ml.html ( cheap shipping a few bucks) and the PG and Vg from http://www.essentialwholesale.com/ which had expensive shipping.. 11 dollars. In the long run though it will even out and be worth it. The flavors I got at the flavors apprentice http://shop.perfumersapprentice.com/c-108-the-flavor-apprentice-world-of-flavors.aspx forgot what shipping was but it was cheap.

I used a coupon code for some of these so the prices became cheaper than the ones listed. Always use the coupon codes.

In retrospect, I may have done better getting all from one place to save on shipping.

Looks like it's time to put some research into DIY. Sorry guys, that probably means I'll have less time to spend chatting here with all of you. If you look at my sig counter, you can see how far behind I am in "saving". 'Course a lot of that is because I'm a newbie and still trying to find those perfect flavors, but I suspect it'll be a lot cheaper to experiment and toss one ml then it to buy 5ml, pay shipping, vape, gag and then toss. :)

I started with 5 DIY flavors to try, plus a 30 ml bottle of pre-mixed for 15 dollars. Out of the 5 flavors, 3 I can vape, hazelnut is o.k. pina colada I love and peanut butter I love. French Vanilla and waffle is yuck yuck. so you may have the same experience some you will like others you wont. I need to experiment with mixing those two in ways that make em taste good with the other flavors but just haven't yet. I have been told that waffle in other brands is yummy, so perhaps that makes a big difference.. different sellers come up with thier flavors using different ingredients.

I did have a heck of a time finding stainless steel cartos though. My usual suppliers only have black atm. And I hate messing with them darn stickers. But I finally found some.

Why do you not like the stickers? I just got my first regular catro with a sticker on it, and would like to know if you have problems with them when they get hot or something?

No, it not that. The primary hookah-doodles I use are the Ego and T-Rex. They both have the cones. I like the cones because they seem to affect the draw in a nice way. But those dang stickers add just enough extra dimension that the cones fit too tight. Other than that no problem at all.

I just use the ones with stickers I have with my tube mods. Originally I liked the black cause I thought they looked nice and bought quite a few but the steel are just as nice.
