So I put together a contest framework that I think might satisfy all of my goals...

--Gets folks into the Legislative News forum
--Gets folks to learn where we came from, where we are today, what to expect in the future
--Gets folks to learn who we are fighting and why
--Gets folks to learn what CASAA is and where it came from
--Encourages them to continue digging and learning

Now my only question is whether anyone will even bother to enter!

I think this is an outstanding idea.

So here are the questions for the contest, although not exactly in final form...

1) What is the most important court case related to electronic cigarettes, and what was the decision?
2) How are electronic cigarettes going to be regulated in the future?
3) Who are we fighting and where does their funding come from?
4) What is CASAA and how was it formed?
5) What can we do to help?

I'm thinking instead of a one-time contest I wanted it to be an ongoing contest because I want people to keep learning more, and I want to keep getting new people to participate and start becoming aware of these things. So rather than have one big set of prizes I was thinking of one prize every two weeks. And I was thinking that people could enter more than once, so they have motivation to continue learning more and improving their answers.

So that brings me to my first question for you folks...
Do you guys think anyone would even bother with all of this for $50 worth of juice?

How will the contest be run? If it's a contest thread, how to you keep people from just copying the answers from the other posts. I know, no guarantee that anyone has the right answer, but if 10 people all have the same answer it might be tempting to someone not bother to do the research themselves.

Sallie brings up a good point.

Question #5 is really the only one that has room for interpretation. Everyone will have a different answer. I think this is the best question.

In question #2 unless the answer is "as a tobacco product" I'm not sure exactly what you're asking. I'm not sure the FDA knows what they are going to do just yet.

Question #3 is inflammatory (the first part), IMO.

If you get the stainless ones you don't have to deal with the cracking and leaking... I'm waiting for a verdict from hobovito (sorry if I miss spelled that) on the revision 5 clearos.

Hi Shannon

Well the CE2 R5 clearos arrived this morning and so far they seem pretty good. I've only tried one but it seems to work well.

I filled it with a 24mg Juicy Peach from Dekang (Chinese) which I believe to be 100% PG and it seems to wick well and produce a good vapour with a strong flavour. It produces a warmer vapour than I've experienced previously, although my experience is limited to ego tanks, type A on std atties, type B on LR atties, G4 clearos, and some cartomisers that I don't really have any info on.

I tried it on a standard ego battery and on the Provari. It seems to like around about 3.4v and the resistance comes in at 2.8 ohms.

It's a bit fiddly to fill, a syringe is essential. Mine had a fine needle included in each box of 5 which is handy as the syringes I have all have needles which would be too thick to fit in the tiny holes you need to use to fill them. I needed a magnifying glass to do the filling, but my eyesight isn't superb.

So far I'm impressed (after about 10 minutes vaping) but I was initially impressed with the G4 clearos too and now I dislike them.
Obviously it's too early to make any comments about their longevity (the packaging says 4 refills are the suggested limit) but we'll see. Based on the experience so far I'd get your supplier to send you a box of 5 with your next order and try them for yourself.

I'll fill another with some cappucino juice (another favourite) and try that!

Edit: 300th post! Whoo-hoo!

Cheers

Thank you so much for updating me if you have any problems with leaks please let me know...

You don't have to poke a needle through those little holes you can take a pair ot tweezers, a tiny screw driver, a pair of nail scissors or possibly even a paper clip and pop that piece with the holes in it off. Then drip fill it and put it back on. Madman says if you don't fill it all the way and use a driptip on it you don't even have to put the piece back on but I'm not sure how far to fill it. If you fill it too full and don't replace the peice the juice will leak out if it's laid on its side. If you keep it upright it doesn't matter.

DC:

I like the idea my only concern would be the people who read that section of the forum but DON'T post. I wouldn't be concerned about people searching the answers because the whole point is getting people to learn the answers isn't it?

Another good option might be asking them what they could do to help prevent bans. That would promote thought and for that you could use random.org to pick a winner.

As for the $50.00 prize. I think most of us would enter a contest for a 15ml bottle of juice and you can buy egos for $50.00 so yeah it should be more than sufficient.

Do try to stay in touch as best you can, Shannon sounds willing to keep us all informed.
No prayers as I don't believe they help, but my thoughts are with you.
Try to keep smiling.
