All I am interested in doing is stopping members of other forums getting aerated enough to want to come over here and start trouble.
From that perspective, it doesn't really matter who did what to whom, who started it, who is going too far, if they attacked first, if they are posting lies -- or anything else. All I want to do is stop them coming here because it all then escalates into a forum war. As a side issue it does not do ECF any good at all if groups of people who are clearly our members go somewhere else and cause problems.
It doesn't matter what we think about their forum, their members, their information, their posts, or anything else. It's their forum. They can post whatever they like on it and we just ignore it - that's the way it has to be. Doesn't matter if it's lies or illogical or just plain wrong.
Do you understand this? It's their forum.
You can post something like this as a reply and this is about as far as it can go:
"The points you have made are not factual and consist of propaganda or untruths. However I cannot discuss this here. If you would like to learn the truth about this then let us discuss it on this thread on another forum here [linked], as due to restrictions placed on me, and good manners, I cannot discuss this here. Thank you."
You might not agree with this approach but any other reply - especially one that gets into an argument - is feeding the trolls there and has escalated into a local war. I have told you before that I don't want this. You will have to choose between membership there or here - it's as simple as that.
They are True Believers and you cannot change their opinion so it is a waste of time trying. Belief is impervious to facts (yes, thank you, CB).
As far as giving new visitors to their forum the best possible information on all options, what I have suggested covers that - links to ECF. Job done.
Fred their Admin has now made a clear statement of his forum's position: QSMB interprets quitting as smoking and nicotine cessation. I think you had best also add 'total cessation of all tobacco, nicotine and inhalation replacements' to that as it's probably what he really means. In other words, they see quitting as total cessation of everything. This conflicts with the view of most e-cig users, who probably want a permanent replacement. Therefore there is a fundamental difference of opinion, and that cannot be fixed.
So we basically have an update:
1. They have made their position clear: quitting = total cessation. All posts on their forum are therefore to be aimed at total cessation within a finite timescale, or they are not acceptable. Their forum is not about harm reduction or safe tobacco alternatives.
2. Due to a fundamental difference of opinion on this topic, even 'normal' posts on QSMB are likely to be seen as inflammatory.
3. You are best advised to withdraw from QSMB or post in the manner I have advised: with a placatory statement and a link. Nothing more.
If it annoys someone over there, it is not acceptable. I'm sorry but it is as simple as that.

But roly has a point...we can only imagine what would happen about the time these trolls popped up over here. In fact, they have. They only got 2-3 posts in before people called "....."..but still. We just dont need that trail of breadcrumbs for them to follow here.
It was swell to see that there really ARE bad places and people on the interwebs, but the swelling has gone down, and im over it. While they run from a nicodemon, Im happily vaping on a new GG. Good times. Oh yes, good times indeed.

Just because you disagree with their methods doesn't make them "wrong". You found something that works for you... That's fantastic. They found something that works for them. Equally fantastic.
If this whole thing was really about "saving others" we have to accept that there is no "one size fits all" approach to quitting smoking. For some, abstinence really is the only way. For others, it might be vaping or smokeless tobacco.
To demand acceptance of your method while simultaneously denouncing another is hypocritical.

was awake all this morning and finally went to check status on my package and it said Arrival at unit...ran outside to see mail and no package...looked in the bottom of my mailbox and there was a we came by and noone was here...UHHH I HAVE BEEN SITTING LESS THAN 6 FEET FROM MY DOOR!!!
needless to say this obviously was not my normal mail lady or she would have rung the doorbell...Heck I have a sign on the mailbox that says for packages please ring doorbell..... Obviously reading comprehension is not a prerequisite for the job!!!

That forum is the first forum that comes up when you put "quit smoking forum" in a Google search.
And that means lots of people are going to wind up there first.
Fred created a subforum for ecigs, and some of us spent a LOT of time and effort filling it up with good information.
And now those pieces of garbage have gotten us kicked out, regardless of whatever the hell the owner might really want.
How many people are going to wind up at that forum first, and check out the electronic cigarette subforum?
And what are they going to find when they do?

not likely to do any good...not a high enough voltage and for booster chips NiMh is a bad source of power...now if you replace the batteries with li-ion well then your cooking with gas for a regulated mod...just send me pics if ya need help with that...
