Morning all.
It's been an interesting almost 48hours. Had my first major "hardware malfunction" with my Riva batts. Apparently one of my clearos (that I JUST GOT ON FRIDAY) had a short. After I filled it up, hit the button it wouldn't stop. After about 10 seconds the switch light started blinking really fast, then the cursed "magic smoke".

The internal protection did it's job, but the battery is now toast.
Now for the facepalm.... like an idiot, I tried taking the clearo apart to see "what went wrong"... thought I had it fixed. So I put it on my ONLY OTHER BATTERY.
Magic smoke stinks btw....
The good news is that I am NOT getting cranky, and NOT feeling the need for an analog. Just disappointed in myself for not thinking.
So... I've heard some of you have used a roughstack? Any opinions regarding? After this little mini debacle I'm going to want at least one type of PV that you can take completely apart AND has user replaceable bits, without being too obscure.
Had considered the Chuck, DC has had luck with them, but magnus has not.
ETA: the e-power also looks interesting, but I'm still leaning toward that RS, since it can be upgraded to 6v and 7.4v quite easily (both of which I've never tried).
