What happened and does this mean I'm off your Christmas Card list?

Hmm wellllll now that you mention it........:glare:
Luna and Ginger were playing in the yard and chasing each other around.
I was just going to sit on the picnic table so they wouldn't knock me over when they came flying by me.
Ginger veered right and Luna went through the now dead flowers hitting me in the knee at a dead run POW, BAM
double head over heels somersault with a landing on now injured knee neck and arms!
Torn ligaments and grossly swollen knee!
I'll blame you if you let me?

Sounds painful, CB. Hope you recover quickly.

Our pal Cigar Babe does a lot of behind the scene things to help our vaping community. Like helping the newbies among us get started down the right path. She is now out in front of the camera and co-hosting a great show on TVN Monday nights from 7 to 9 PM. The show is called ‘Sitting with Salty and Cigar Babe’ and you can find it at TVN on Stickam - Join the live stream.
Lots of fun and great information. Check it out.

Question for you carto users...

How many days does a carto typically last for you before flavor and vapor degrades? I only ask because I just recently started to use them with any sort of regularity. I'm using Boge 3.0 ohm cartos as a reference.

If they are constantly kept wet..two weeks.

Interesting...

I've been getting two days, maybe four if I'm lucky. I've been bordering on obsessive when it comes to keeping them wet. It's to the point now where I don't see any advantage over dripping on an atomizer. I've been thinking about picking up one of the tanks available on MadVapes. Has anyone tried one from there?

Not from there Nate, but I bought the same one through my juice vendor. It's a good tank, just not as easy to take apart as some of the others. Although, not impossible like the jtank which I owned and gave away as soon as I found someone who wanted it. Does MadVapes sell a 3ml version or that tank? If you like the Boge regular length cartos, you'll need a 3ml tank. The 5ml and 6ml are typically for XL cartos. As far as I know, Boge doesn't sell an XL 3Ω carto. If you want to try a really good 3ml tank that is reasonably priced, I would recommend the Lil Mama, but you may have to buy their o-ring kit as well and replace the o-rings on the outside with the #4 o-rings from the kit. The last time I bought a tank from them, the caps were looser than I like, but replacing the o-rings did the trick. The tanks have a lip on them that extends past the tube and that makes them really easy to get apart and refill. Although, MadVapes recommends you just slip the carto thread end into the tank and fill through the hole without removing the caps, so I guess that would work too.

Anyway, to get back to your question.... Yes, I have one. It's a good tank, just not my favorite. However the price is certainly right to figure out if tanks are for you.

Nate the Madvapes Tank works just as good as any of the other tanks and it's cheap!
You won't need to fool around making adjustments or anything else.
I have many tanks but you know what I use consistently?
My DOD kit!
It works as simply as the best tanks and will work with cartos too!
Once you undo the top of a tank you lose the vacuum and that is what usually creates problems for folks.
Filling through the top of the carto is one solution since the rest of the juice will just run into the tank from the slots. The M1A1 Tanks are also very good and I got mine through the person who designed them. It has an adjustable screw to hold the carto in place and you can use the screw hole to fill it so you don't have to remove anything.
I leave my cartos in and use a just with a similar profile whenever possible unless they've burned or taste funky.

Between 3 and 6 days, I find it very dependant on the juice I use, darker juices kill them quicker.

I'm burning my way through 100 I bought in a sale from Heaven-Gifts (China) no known brand, they average around 2.4-2.6 ohms and I run them at 4v for dark liquid and 3.8v for light liquid. They were very cheap, about $1.20 each, IIRC.

Is it better to be fanatical about keeping them wet? I just refill when they start to taste a bit dry?

Cheers to all of us, and Merry Christmas.

I have one too, and yes, it does work well.
For some reason I don't use it much though, probably because my wife doesn't like it.
She thinks the "hit" is too strong and makes me cough.

Another Q for the group, and especially CB...

I've been 100% off tobacco since March, but I was thinking about getting a couple of small cigars for Chrissie, just as a change and for some fun. Do you think that might be a "slippery slope" back to cigarettes?

Cheers and love to you all!

For me it wouldn't be a slippery slope back to smoking because I never enjoyed smoking as much as I enjoy vaping. Nothing could ever entice me away from vaping and back to cigarettes. Everyone is different though, so if you liked smoking and vaping is only something you do so you don't smoke, then maybe having a cigar could be a trigger. Personally, I would probably have one puff of the cigar and turn green, but then again I never enjoyed cigars either. Good luck whatever you decide and Merry Christmas to you.

That's probably what will happen! We've lit the occasional cigarette from the stash of cartons we had left over when we quit, but have never managed more than the odd puff or two before retching and stubbing them out. There are still packets unopened in a drawer even after 9 months, we fear them not! :)

I think I'll buy a few cigars, but I bet they don't get smoked all the way. It's just that we always had a cigar for Christmas, won't seem quite right without one after Christmas dinner!

For my 7 month quit anniversary I threw away about a pound of loose tobacco and my assorted DIY supplies. It felt good.

Thanks for the input on cartos. I've been thinking about pulling the trigger on the DOD for some time, but for whatever reason haven't. I'll probably order one soon.

Honestly though, I'm starting to get really tired of all the maintenance, frustration and cost associated with vaping. Darwin was acting flaky, then all of a sudden died. Discovered the firing button had broken at the solder joints and rather than send it in to be fixed, I did the work myself and reinforced it so it won't happen again. Still very frustrating for a mod that is on the expensive side. Warranty voided, but oh well. I really want to just be done with it all.

I've lowered my nic down to ~10 mg. I'm hoping by my one year quit date I can just put it all down and say "goodbye" to it.

Good luck Nate, I hope you're able to reach your goal by your 1 year quit date.

My husband just said he's considering quitting it all. On his next juice order he want's me to step him down 4mg. I'm excited for him, he never even wanted to quit smoking up until 5 months ago let alone give up nicotine. I hope he can do it too, and I'll help him make it in whatever way I can. I, on the other hand, am thinking I'm going to stick with this for quite some time. I have no definite plans to continue, but I also have no definite plans to stop. My current setup feels pretty much maintenance free and I'm comfortable with my nicotine intake.
