Hi Gang!

Well, made the 4 hour trip to my mom's house in Milwaukee. Thought I'd catch up before bed!

Funny you should mention that! Was thinking about it in the shower this Am and i've already mentally formulated an outline that should stay well within the guidelines....

@Edwv30 - please don't take offense to my earlier post. I know you meant well - what I meant by "not accomplishing anything" was that they were never going to open their minds and truly listen, so it was an exercise in futility and just continuing the bickering to keep debating them. That and I could read the frustrated tone in your posts and it was starting to just break down into snipping at each other. My comment about "banging your head on the wall and blood on the carpet" was in reference to what I told Shannon(?) earlier. Basically, by trying to reason and argue with those people, you are, in effect, just banging your head on the wall and all that achieves is blood on your carpet - ie., it only ends up hurting YOU more in the end and the wall will still be there, lol! ;)

Kristin I think it's Time you Joined EA... if you're thinking about ECF or a related forum in the shower you have a problem. ;)

You know what-thats so true-after all those who relaspe just love inventing excuses oh I mean good reasons for choosing to lose their quits.
Hey, I look at it a different kind of way...Them ciggies were smooth talkin, slick walkin, sell a ketchup popsicle to a woman on white gloves kinda things..and by design. But e cigs allowed to remove the rose colored glasses, and see a buck toothed, bad postured, smellin of aqua velvet, and anchovy breath, salesman with a bill of goods.
Though I applaud those that could go CT, I dont envy that you are left with wonder and that feeling of loss. You loved smoking just as we did, but you are left missing them for the fun they were, though hurtful.
I am grateful that I know they werent really fun at all, and knowing I was more in love with the fairy tale behind them, than the reality. I wouldnt "know" this, had I chosen any other way...as I did CT a couple times before, and missed them. I looked back wishing I could allow them again (and eventually did)....But now, I can allow at any time, with no remorse...but they lost their sex appeal, and I love that :p

To me I figure those who truly love to smoke but want to change their delivery system to a "less" harmful way so they don't have to quit well then that makes sense to me after all not everyone who quits is forced into it-some really want to be free of habit/addiction-whatever works should be tolerated just like my nicodemon thing you all poo poo about.

Hey, were ALL here cause we want to quite, to some extent. We just have different reasons for it. I didnt quite because I didnt enjoy it...It was fun, cool...all that jazz. Mine was for health, and kids, and money.
So yeah, I got all that back with e cigs, and got to keep the fun, and cool too. BUT, I also got the side effects or losing the rose colored glasses ciggies threw on me. THATS the part I love the most. Forget the nic, the addiction, the stress...I got something I NEVER expected, (aside from quiting)...I dont WANT to smoke cigarettes anymore....Let me state that again.." I dont "WANT" to smoke cigarettes anymore". ...I havent been able to say that since the day I started smoking them in the first place. I dont have to say "no" anymore when I want to say yes...I just dont want em period. THAT is a blessing WAY beyond what I expected from these things.
This isnt me touting e cigs praises...These are the facts that I live with now...and I LIKEY! :)

I held out for a loooong time... I'd like the concept but didn't want the hassles I reading about.

Bought my first batch over 2 months ago. Performance was great (I mean really, really great), but the tubes were still prone to cracking and leaking. I dealt with it because the performance was so good.

Second batch has thicker tubes, and no leaking so far out of the 1 I've been using heavily for over a week.

I can't hardly kill the things... out of 11 I've used, only 2 have gone bad... one broken coil and one broken wick. But that was after heavy use.

Alright, Randy... I just ordered some. If I don't like them...

...I'll just send them to you.

So because I have come to really like all of y'all (I have so wanted to use that in a sentence FOREVER!!) I posted on the other board but when I wake up in the morning I will be celebrating 200 days of no cigarettes!! I have failed twice before - both times because I wasn't quitting for me - I was quitting to shut people up. So, I never really tried and it wasn't surprising that I failed. This time I did it for me. My nine year old gave me the biggest hug tonight and told me how happy she was.

I am glad we live in this age. She has been taught from kindergarten the dangers of smoking - I don't think she will ever smoke. My eldest daughter is almost 21 and has never touched them - no interest. My son on the other hand has tried smoking and has tried some MJ. I would personally go out and buy him an e-cig if he came and told me he was smoking - whether he wanted to quit or not so for that thanks.

Glad I got to know you - even in some not so comfortable situations.

good for you 200 days free. well later guys I'm tired & am getting cranky & its showing up in my posts so I figure better to shut up then keep making people like big chief get mad at me.

He's not mad at ya Beth. I have gone back a lot of posts in QSMB and I have seen how you struggled and how some people really attacked you for "not getting off the pot". Remember how that felt? That is probably how Big Chief feels right now. Not that he doesn't like you - I think it really must have hurt to have read some of the things he has.

It wasn't you - but posting Little Chief and a lot of other "motivational" posters that were posted was very juvenile. There is some broken trust there - not broken friendship. You stuck around QSMB - and I know you felt attacked a lot of times - and I would have to agree that you were sometimes. Remember that feeling and just realize that BC is feeling like that right now.

It's the great thing about trust...it grows back!

Behind you
Chiefy rarely gets mad....another side effect, no stress anymore.
So green, be easy bro..no hard feelings...
Melanie- if were needed, were here...but bless ya girl, and the fam. ;)
With that, chiefy is off to the tee-pee..nite all.

You just reminded me of that Seinfeld episode I first saw in my native tongue about 'Jimmy' who always refers to himself in the third-person. Not that you're a tool like that guy was but it was funny. -Magnus
