Evening Peeps. Been a day - sigh. Sitting back and chillaxing, although I am not chemical free this evening. My husband and I are watching the Cannucks/Bruins game and I am consuming some vodka and I BBQ'd which I think was a huge carcinogenic debate at one time.

Sorry that people are all subjected to that seeing as we all really have one thing in common - which is to get off the horrible cigs. I asked my husband tonight what he would prefer I do if I ever came to him and told me I was going to smoke. Go out and get gum and have to chew it forever or use a PV. He said gum originally because he thinks that the hand to mouth would re-awaken things and cause me to start smoking again. I let him read here for a while (hope you don't mind) and after an hour he came back and said - those e-cigs would be okay too as long as you didn't always have me try and fix it LOL.

I talked to my doctor today too and he told me if you can't stop the "habit" then I would prefer you dropped the 4000 plus chemicals and work on the habit.

Stephanie @ QSMB said this and I had something I wanted to add. I haven't made it through the entire thread so if it was discussed already, I apologize...

Stephanie said:
And if you are gonna fight, which I admire, the truth matters, and I got to know, is there one person that thinks nicotine is not addictive?
I am not saying you don't have the right to your addiction but do you admit you have one...?

Some people find nicotine addictive and others don't. When I first started smoking, my wife had several cigs with me. She never became addicted, but I most certainly did. For every person you can find that is addicted to nicotine, alcohol, mj, pain killers, food, etc. you will also find just as many people who are not addicted to those "substances" even though they tried them. :2c:

Melanie, you're a sweetheart and a tiger, and I'm really glad you joined us over here. :)

What did your Doc have to say about e-cigs?

So... I mentioned earlier I got some new extracts from Flavor Apprentice... Now I'm looking at all of them and trying to decide what to make. These three flavors kind of stuck out at me: Pomegranate, Key Lime, Raspberry. I was thinking of making a mix of the three, but I'm not sure what kind of ratio to mix them in. Any thoughts?

Thanks - my hubby thinks so to....grrrrr. Soooo just kidding lol.

My doctor said that for him - abstinence is perfection. (He's wordy LOL). That he would prefer nothing be entering the body but that there are some out there where that is not achievable. In that case, harm reduction is key to him and although he is not as versed on electronic cigarettes - he would refer those over cigarettes. I actually got him thinking about stuff and he said that he is going to go and read some peer reviewed studies and papers.

I like my doctor. He is not a prescription pad. He takes time to actually find out what is going on me. I was misdiagnosed with something years and years ago and he got it right off...saved me a lot of continuing pain.

No idea at all, I've only just started with DIY and only tobacco flavors so far. One nice thing I've heard about non-tobacco is that you can mix a small amount to taste test right away... no need to let it steep.

Pomegranate does sound interesting, though...
