well nite Magnus...

BTW I personally don't count simple mods. To me modding means taking something and making it into something else...

Go BIG or GO HOME!!!!!

I'm perfectly happy leaving it up to you. If I lick all my ROV and UAV challenges I will die a happy geek. Nite MadMac, -Magnus

Funny, my husband swears our house doesn't smell like smoke (yes, he still smokes and in the house). I've been trying to tell him that it does, but he just won't believe it. We'll have non-smokers come over the house and he'll ask them and they all say no, they can't smell it. Are these people crazy? I can't smell it either, since I'm still in the "thick of it" so to speak pretty much 24/7 due to my work from home arrangement, but I know it has to smell, how can it not?

My wife gets migraines when she gets a whiff of smoke (cig, burning leaves, etc) nowadays (worse since the little ones were born). There have been nights where we had to close up the windows in the house because somebody DOWN THE BLOCK was smoking outside their home.

I didn't notice it much when I was smoking, which was also outside the house. I had a getting-home-from-work ritual that would make one of the Intel pink suit guys laugh. Clean face, wash hands 2x, take off any clothes I wore while smoking (that I had to wash myself).

Now that I've quit, I can preempt problems because I can smell the smoke from outside even before it hits the house.

She's much more pleasant to be around now! :)

I think there are some good tobacco flavors, but I don't think they taste anything like a cigarette. Backwoods Brew Casablanca is a nice tobacco with the perfect amount of caramel. It's really good. I wish I hadn't gotten the 30mL bottle at 24mg though. I dropped to 18mg after two weeks. I'm scared to dilute it down because I'll lose the flavor. I guess I could get lower mg bottle though. Then again, I have a ton of DIY stuff... Like enough to make 2 gallons. I think I went a bit overboard.

I've gone this route myself, bought a bunch of 24mg for myself, and matched those with 0mg bottles. THat way I could drop the nic to basically whatever I wanted. Works very well.

I don't like the smell of smoke ON people but I like the smell of smoke in the air. I can walk by someone smoking and it smells good to be. However, if one of my coworkers comes back in from a smoke and sits in my office - P-U!!! I don't like it. My poor never-smoker hubby - I really didn't think I smelled.

p.s I think you guys are wonderful for the support you have given to Orly

p.p.s I am 7 months quit today and totally didn't remember

p.p.p.s I am on vacation!!!!!!!!!!

I've mentioned it elsewhere (Q), but it never hurts to say again:

CONGRATS ON YOUR SEVEN MONTHS! Have an excellent vacation.

I've got my wait-list order in for ePipeMods using the same Lignum-Vitae stock that Brad over at Sweet Vapes used for my GRIP. My Holy Trinity of mods will be complete. I feel so enlightened now. -Magnus

I've been jonesing for a Liverpool mohogany for weeks now. Lignum-Vitae is a sweet wood, especially the the green heartwood! What style were you considering?

Once you have it in hand PLEASE post some pics, I 'd love to see it! Matt @ EPM is a great guy, does excellent work.

I'm waiting for my 10th and 11th Doctor Sonics to get here from Celestial. They're the full-size, screen accurate Sonics I based my mod on. So those two will be ready within days of the final work product arriving from Celestial (China). They are still estimating about two months away for the 10th and a few months after that for the 11th.

I'm not doing that mini-Sonic mod. -Magnus

Better question is what YOUR sonic will look like as a mod, mr 13th dr. :)

we were all smokers once. Smokers can't smell for ...... :)

Not quite true...really a dependent thing...now I will admit I did not smell how bad I stank from cig smoke but many a time I smelled something before anyone else...what I think it comes down to is smokers cannot smell their own stink...then again it may be an autism thing too...I will admit some odors are much more irritating to me now than they used to be...like cheap cigs or those cheap cigar cigs...blek they make me want to puke...

River Song in forest of the dead had a newer sonic screwdriver than his...maybe that one...?

Helis? What kind? Did I know this already?

Align and Hirobo kits, nitros in .90 size, heavily customized, w/ Arduino-based on-board controls. They're still lethal but they're getting there.

I'm going with the free-hand Storm In A Castle style for the first one. He says the wait is about two months to bench so before Christmas is my hope.

Dan and I have been doing helicopter events for years. I'm surprised we haven't crossed paths before, /shrug

I've flown pretty much everything. I know some people down in your area. Did you hear about that girl that got hit by that model in the park around there (around a year or two ago)? Go to any events down there? I might know some of the same people you do...

Those are some very nice looking ePipes, but I thought only socialists smoked pipes. :)

I've always been a function over form kind of guy though, never mind some of them cost more than 1 year of my RYO analogs. Who am I fooling though? I realized before I even started vaping it was going to cost me more than smoking.

I just recently moved down here so I have no history down in these parts. And since mine are designed to be autonomous I only get to use them at the Coast Guard fields so far. There are some areas closer to Crystal River which are apparently an option but I haven't gone up there yet. -Magnus

EEK turn it on and let it go huh...whats the runtime on those drones...?

Depends on a variety of factors....

First, powerplant and fuel type. There's electric, nitromethane (hobby fuel), gas (weed eater type, gas and oil mix), turbine.

Second, there's power for the avionics. This is dependant on whether or not the system will recharge itself, most don't.

Finally, payload. Weight and rotor speed dictate how long a bird will be up.

Unloaded, flight times can range from 5 minutes to 30 minutes, depending on fuel type. Electrics tend to not last that long up in the air, gassers can be up for 30 minutes or thereabouts. Of course, this is all dependent on how big the fuel tanks are (bladders, tanks, mAh, etc)

I'm a Contest Director, Lifetime AMA member, Turbine Waiver holder (and I've signed off on others). Among other things, I'm the Safety Officer for VARCHA (Virginia Radio Control Helicopter Association) and the past VP. I also Co-CD the 2nd largest helicopter event on the east coast (Heli-Invasion). Combine that with formerly working/being a part of HeliFreak.... I've been around for awhile.

I was almost eaten by an alligator in Crystal River...

Not really, but I loved tubing down it. It was always a bit unsettling to float down the river, look over to the shore and see a bask of gators eyeing you for lunch.
