That's too bad. I liked the pier. It and Weedon Island were two of my favorite places in St. Pete.
I'm srry...couldn't think of anything better to say...a little stressed today...had to go talk to a head shrinker...Grrrr!!!
Florida's economic downturn and the homeless situation have really hurt the whole Tampa Bay. St. Pete tries to maintain immunity by pretty diabolical schemes I don't much approve of. There are signs of recovery and I do love the area.
Well, they could be right. Hand to mouth might be an addiction, like taking a shower every day, or you know how some people can't stand to let more than a few minutes go by after eating to brush their teeth, and I've known people who were addicted to getting up and running in the morning before they brushed their teeth.Well put Nate!
I dislike ignorance whether self induced or picked up...
I just cannot comprehend how putting your hand to your mouth is an "addiction" in itself

not meaning to co opt the thread but has anyone seen or heard from ShannonA?
kinda worried...she hasn't been on the forum for a bit...
Good afternoon! How is everyone doing on this beautiful summer day?
Well, they could be right. Hand to mouth might be an addiction, like taking a shower every day, or you know how some people can't stand to let more than a few minutes go by after eating to brush their teeth, and I've known people who were addicted to getting up and running in the morning before they brushed their teeth.
We don't know that much about how our brains work, and thus addiction, to say that the brain chemistry changes that feed the addiction have to originate with an external substance.
I don't mean to suggest that any of them would be willing to stop being a slave to a daily shower, or using deodorant, but then beliefs aren't bound to a consistency clause.
Placing a high value on ignorance as a cultural trait, and/or as part of a belief, is very popular and widespread in some societies, and like a lot of stuff like that, has some very old roots that it's unlikely that many of its current devotees are aware of.
Hey, I know what! Let's not even let me start...
That mischievous, rollicking rolygate! He brevisized my line, and now it's his.![]()

A lovely view of a lovely day.
High quality to boot. All the webcams around here are either pointed at the street or look like they were taken with a cell phone 5 years ago...
Yes, it is a nice day, but it was better earlier, the clouds are starting to close in again now.
Snow down to 300 metres predicted for today.
(Mt Wellington, the mountain which is the back drop to the shot, is 1,271 metres.)
The school does run a nice hi-res webcam, I became addicted to it when we bought this house, but before we could get moved down here, I used to keep it running all the time to remind me why we were going to all the effort to relocate!
Cheers

Pfft... 1,271 meters? My house is higher than that little pile of dirt (1,387 m).![]()
Stickam.....? whats that...urrk I feel noobish now...
Why, Madman, I believe cigarbabe has graciously invited us to join her and the cast of Made in Chelsea for a rousing evening of scones and divot-stamping over at a most exclusive if oh-so-lamentably named London prep school some of them are sure to have attended, or at least claim to. I wonder if there'll be pony rides...

I'll be back in an hour would anyone like to have a "live chat"?
Not too many holds barred?!
