Pretty flat country is AustraliaWe've got the longest dead-straight section of railroad in the world (297 miles) because there just weren't any hills to avoid. It does make the outback a bit boring, I don't like flat country, hills add interest.

I really like the mountains actually. Makes it really easy to figure out which direction is which. Big mountains to the east, little mountains the the west, blue mountains to the south, green mountains to the north...
Magnus, we could really use you on the Q board. Your ability to frame an argument would be an asset to the "cause".

Honestly, at this point I think we're just treading water over there. I'm not convinced we're actually helping anyone who wouldn't have found e-cigs without the QSMB. Maybe that will change in time. I guess what we're trying to achieve right now is the right to exist there without constant griping and trolling from the "old timers". Not sure if there really is anything to contribute that wouldn't be chewed up and spit out. There doesn't seem to be a lot of reasoning behind their arguments. They twist everything, and when it's pointed out, they twist that too. Or just ignore it altogether. Can't argue with someone who has their fingers in their ears all the while screaming naner naner nanaer.

maybe so many have reading comprehension problems & can't figure out which bunch is the most truthful-who knows. Sorry about this post but I'm still upset having this said to me last wk-thats another reason for not being here much. To me that was real rude & yet I'm the one with the "reading" problem.

And I still am asking you what "truth"? I haven't assumed the worst about anything. You're the one who wrote about two different truths and I'm asking you what you mean by that. The opposite of a truth is a lie, and so I asked you about that too. Essentially though, it's the same question asked two different ways. I'm only asking for clarification on your post.
I didn't say anyone is lying but I'm assuming each side sees what they believe (or truth) as they see it. Like I see things a certain way & you see things your way-no one is wrong but getting someone to accept your point of view is the tricky part. I'm not starting anything or being 2 faced or whatever else.

We never set out to change anyone's opinion Beth, we hoped we could make alternate methods and info available and we mistakenly thought that people would read some of the studies and see for themselves how useful those facts could be to them if they chose to use them. We never thought we would be subjected to the level of hatred and ignorance simply because we brought new information to that board.
There is no we like you have seen here at ecf over there only those who have done "Frozen Turkey" and refuse to acknowledge there are many different ways to quit which are viable and work for many! As an aside, raising your hand to your mouth is certainly not some deviant part of addiction as many of you like to think.
There is also only one truth no matter who posts it and qsmb does not utilize truth in any way shape or form especially when it comes down to "facts" about addiction, smoking or ecigs willfully or otherwise.
This is a topic they know jack about.

What we have here is a failure to communicate.
Truth is truth. It's not a verb or adjective. It's not a practice. It's finite and doesn't change.
Don't call people's ~beliefs~ the truth unless you have objective, peer reviewed, and well understood recognized data.
The whole Q board debacle is that the known truths, which aren't a HUGE body mind you, that ECF is bringing to the table is being dismissed. And while the ECFers are admitting the gaps and lack of data on some fronts, The Q veterans are blatantly ignoring the already known and well understood shortcomings of existing "solutions".
One side is being more intellectually honest about the situation. The weird things, from my perspective, is how confrontational and rude it's become. I think some Q veterans ~ masterfully ~ baited people into derailing threads. -Magnus
